That's very cool! Hopefully he didn't say this in front of any other Superman actors, though... I saw this think where the Berlanti verse actors were picking between Batman and Superman and everyone said Batman. Then they all said "sorry, Brandon." I'm really happy for Brandon that he ended up as a co-star for "Legends". In reading how he found out about the non-SR 2 happening--- Felt bad for him, and wondered if his career was over and/if he would have wanted nothing to do with WB/DC at that point, couldn't have said that I would have blamed him. Instead, the fans like him as Ray, the show is successful, and he doesn't have the burden of having to carry the fate of a whole movie on his shoulders. He seems like a good guy, glad he didn't end up with a bad next phase after SR.

You can really see the stress on Cavill and Affleck now. You could see it on Affleck after BVS but this is the first time I've seen Cavill seem a little burned out on it all. I saw an interview asking about the reshoots and he really looked like he didn't want to talk about it and was trying to figure out what to say.
That's why I think Routh feels a bit of vindication. It's not as easy as go make a great Superman movie. Not for the actors anyway. Cavills had to go through the divisiveness of these films three times and this is the first one that's looking like a possible financial disaster. SR didn't have nearly as much riding on it as Cavills last three films. The Arrowverse seems to be going a lot steadier than the DCEU and like you said it ain't all on Rouths shoulders.
The Berlanti shows casts and crews should really pat themselves on the backs. Despite being threated like the red headed step children they've delivered more consistently than the movies have. WB should be happy about that but I bet they don't give it much thought.

I have a feeling Cavill reads/has read the internet reaction as well to MOS- to BvS - to JL, and Superman in it, in particular. I can't blame him (or Affleck) to getting burned out.... having to go to press and constantly answer questions that they'd rather not can't be any fun.
