So, I checked it out for my own area- sadly, it's not showing at a LOT of theaters closely, and the one that is even moderately close only is showing it once (the listing has it for Nov. 25, 27, and Dec. 3rd).
Hopefully it sells out and encourages more. But, I wonder--- as I went to the T2 3d showing and there was barely anyone there.... makes me wonder if audiences are continuing to shrink for older films?
In any case.... soon as I'm able, anxious to go to the one closely and maybe see some friendly faces of others in the Bay Area that love that film as much as I do. Will see!

I’m pissed that my theaters aren’t screening it or Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. They’re selective of what Fantom Events are screened.

It’s great that they’re showing MOTP since it’s also celebrating a milestone anniversary this year. Lots of those for dc related stuff this year. It’s still arguably the best Batman film.

Never was a giant fan of Batman: mask of the Phantasm, though. I am, however, looking forward to saving up for the Batman Animated box set - as I've never watched them all and have only heard fantastic things about the whole series.

Really? You missed out. Even the mediocre episodes were leagues ahead of most of the other stuff on then or now.
MOTP is a great companion piece to the series. The Batman TAS movies started to go downhill after that but it’s still the best adaptation of Batman year one (with some influence from year two). Yes even better than the actual Batman Year One animated movie.

The Batman year one animated movie was a big disappointment to me- I LOVED the original, but thought that the storytelling in the comic format was far superior to what ended up on-screen. I would have much rather that they did a motion comic (much like All-Star Superman, which says they tried to capture the comic art, but it doesn't really)

Some it worked and some of it didn’t. the narration came off as clunky. Ben Mackenzie was also a terrible Batman. Incredibly flat delivery.
