I saw an ad, but it didn't have such good pics. Thanks for sharing.
The 'gold standard' to me now is the Hot Toys' Christopher Reeves Superman that I compare the other figures by- Compared to the large size Mecco one (Which wasn't bad, but the expression on Reeve's face I wasn't crazy about), the 'Conan o'Brian/Chris Reeve DC half-statue, the Mattel 12', and this.... this one seems really nice to me.
The size could be bigger and the price could be smaller, but if the actual piece is as good as the photo, I'll definitely save up for this one, even with some of the stuff you mentioned. Personally, since Reeve was mostly a bit thinner under the Donner shot footage, I'm glad if the figure bends that way.

Not really feeling this, the expression is weird. The first pic looks like Gerard Christopher to me, though the likeness is better in profile. Why can no-one manage a smiling Reeve? Cinemaquette, Mattel,Hot Toys, Neca, DC premium format; all varying degrees of neutral to moody. I'm also unsure how you get the belt colour wrong when painting this?

I imagine it’s an artistic choice and not an error since the yellow on the chest shield and cape shield are more accurate. Not sure why they made that choice though. If they aren’t too far into production I could see them changing it.
Most figures seem to go for neutral expressions. It looks like this one is smirking or smiling a little bit. It just looks odd. Probably why they don’t do it since most can’t get those kind of expressions right without it looking cringe worthy.
Necas figure has a crap likeness. They’ve done so much better. I expect Mattel to not quite get it right but Neca has some talented sculptors. Mattel’s four inch figure even looked better.

I get the smirk as directly from Supes glaring at Zod, so I was ok with that as I figure this is capturing that specific moment. At closer look the face could be better, but the size also kind of bugs me. How small is he compared to the rest of this? Hurm....

I mean the execution of the smirk or any expression and not the specific expression itself.
1/10 scale means Superman himself, excluding the base, is bigger than a Marvel Legends figure and probably bigger than a Neca figure.

If they aren’t too far into production I could see them changing it. If intentional an odd choice for sure. I have to disagree with you there. The 7inch, out of the box is the best likeness in small scale we've ever gotten. Great figure. The 1/4 scale figure looks bad in photos, but is better in hand. I think the factory paint it what really lets the sculpt down. It's not perfect, but repainted looks a lot better. I also heated the hair up on mine with a heat gun and pushed it down a bit so it's less poofy. I made him a new suit too

That’s pretty faint praise since most of the statues and figures of Reeve look terrible. When you look at what Hasbro has done with their recent black series figures and recent marvel legends (at a slightly smaller scale no less) they make the Neca Reeve look even worse in my eyes. The hair stuck up too much for sure (more like a pompadour style) but the figure looks more like a Reeve cosplayer. Yeah it’s the best one ever at that scale but even Mattel’s 12 inch figure is hot garbage. To me the Neca figure looks more cartoonish than accurate. More of a poor caricature.
Look at Necas recent evil dead figures. Far better likenesses of Bruce Campbell than what they did with Reeve. To be fair Reeve’s likeness is a hard one to get right since he didnt have character heavy features. That’s why he said he liked getting older because it gave his face character.
Speaking of suits the Hot toys figure has a great likeness but that suit is not great. Meanwhile the sideshow statue has a better suit but the face is kind of off and the proportions are wonky.
