Today on the Kelly Ripa and Ryan Seacrest talk show, Ripa compared the latest Royal family situation to Superman giving up his powers to be with Lois. Since the audience, and Seacrest, acted like they weren’t as familiar with that plot line, she said it was everyone’s “homework” to watch it. Fun to see the sequel get some acknowledgement, especially with its anniversary coming soon. Ripa also said that it was his father that advised him to do what he did, so she may have seen the Donner Cut.

I had to go to google since i don’t usually keep up with all the celebrity drama and specifically not the Royal drama. Can’t really blame Harry or his wife. The British tabloid press is trash and they hound these people just to make a buck without worrying about the consequences. I still can’t believe CNN actually gave Piers Morgan a job for a while. Their overzealousness lead to the death of his mother so I can see why why Harry would want to get away from it. The American press and tabloids aren’t much better but since the royals aren’t “our thing” I don’t think they’ll care as much. You’d also think some of the British public would be fine with this since if they do mean what they say about being more financially independent they won’t be living so much on the taxpayers dime.

Usually celebs who are too 'peppy' annoy me, but for some odd reason, I never was bothered by Kelly Ripa. Having her reference Superman II and telling everyone to watch her definitely gets her a lot of points from me.  |
