Doing this particular crossover as a “versus” type of situation, especially now, doesn’t seem like the best move to me. Superman and Batwoman don’t have any real personal history together. She also doesn’t have Bruce Wayne’s intelligence or experience so I find it very hard to believe she could take on Superman in a believable way.
Sure she’s got access to Bruce’s weapons, vast resources, and other technology but not his tactical mind for how to use them best. She’d be a lot more in over her head than he’d be against a Kryptonian yet you know they’ll have her get the better of him in some annoyingly forced way. Even with Kryptonite Superman should have enough experience to know that’s a risk. Seems like they’ve just got a hard on to do their version of Batman vs Superman but since they don’t have full use of Batman they’re going for the closest thing.
Batwoman vs Supergirl is the more logical choice and was something they’ve been setting up since the Elseworlds crossover. They’ve got the chemistry, the history, and have even developed a friendship. There would be much more natural drama if they were pitted against one another. It’s also a different spin on a classic clash since we haven’t see these two ever really square off. I’ll give it a chance but it just seems like the producers dropped the ball and missed a golden opportunity for a better crossover.
If they’re so gun ho to do a big crossover event with Superman why not do Superman vs Flash? Gustin loves Superman so he’d be over the moon to do something like this with Hoechlin, getting to play around in the world of Superman, etc. They could finally do the classic Superman/Flash race properly in live action. Flash is also Superman & Lois’s lead in on Tuesday’s so they could do it as a big must see two hour one night event. Just makes more sense to me.

Superman and Batwoman will be coming together in a crossover event for The CW. The move comes after the network handed Superman & Lois a straight-to-series order.
The CW chairman and CEO Mark Pedowitz revealed Thursday on the network’s scheduling call that it would be planning a two-hour event pairing the two superheroes. He said it would not happen in December, given the COVID-19 production shutdown, but hoped for it in either the first or second quarter of 2021.
“We’re still working on it. It will be a smaller event than usual, we’re only planning a two-hour event. We are talking about doing Superman and Batwoman together. There’s a lot of characters coming from our other shows,” he said. The CW has aired six annual Arrowverse crossovers – Crisis on Infinite Earths – featuring episodes of Supergirl, Batwoman, The Flash, Arrow and DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, with the last episodes airing in December and January.
Written by The Flash executive producer Todd Helbing and based on the DC characters created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, Superman & Lois revolves around the world’s most famous superhero and comic books’ most famous journalist, as they deal with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being working parents in today’s society.
The series comes from Helbing, DC Universe architect Greg Berlanti and Warner Bros TV. Helbing executive produces with Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff Johns via Berlanti Productions. The drama, which was slated to film its pilot episode during regular pilot season before taking a break and resuming production on the rest of its 13-episode order in the summer, now will go straight into series production after all pilot production was suspended over the COVID-19 pandemic. It stars Tyler Hoechlin as Clark Kent/Superman and Elizabeth Tulloch as Lois Lane.
