I was wondering: if WB archives is (I hoped) waiting for an anniversary to release a SII international tv extended cut (assuming they were doing that)--
What was the anniversary that counts/counted for them?
According to wiki:
The release of SII was- December 4, 1980 (Australia) April 9, 1981 (United Kingdom) June 19, 1981 (United States)
If WB archives counts the US release date as the anniversary, then (crossing fingers) next year would be a nice suprise for a remastered release--- assuming we're all alive and healthy enough to do so (crossing fingers again)!

Depends on where you live as you pointed out with the dates. None of them are technically wrong. It if you count the premiere or first release I guess it would be a 1980 film. But it was so late in the year you could still count it as an 81 film.

To this day, I can't believe how 'out of the blue' the extended tv cut was from WB archives. There was all the anticipation and 'warning' for the RDC cut release, but seemingly nothing for the tv cut, until just before it happened. You'd think that WB would want to let as many fans know ahead of time....
