www.list.co.uk/article/122408-superman-director-richard-donner-blasts-cynical-dark-comic-book-films/One bit that concerned me is that Donner claims he does not know who Zack Snyder is: Donner, 90, insisted he didn't know any of this – and doesn't even know who 'Man of Steel' filmmaker Snyder is – but he suggested it's "wonderful" that he's getting another chance. Not sure if that is a bit of old age memory affecting Donner there......or if he meant it in the literal sense(i.e he has never met Snyder personally).....or he is just unaware of Snyder as a substantial filmaker....and if it is the latter.....I don't blame Donner one bit! On edit: here is an article addressing Donner's knowledge of Snyder: Superman Director Richard Donner Says He Has No Clue Who Zack Snyder Is
Superman: The Movie director Richard Donner is happy Zack Snyder's Justice League is being released but says he doesn't actually know who he is.
(2011)
MTV: Do you have any advice for the new "Superman: Man of Steel" team? What would you tell Zack Snyder about bringing the character to the big screen again?
DONNER: The only advice I have is to tell them good luck and go make a darn good movie. They're filmmakers and they wouldn't be doing this or getting this job if they weren't well qualified to do it. I look to them to show me something new and something different, and totally respect what they do. I don't think I can help them in any way except by patting them on the shoulder and wishing them all the luck in the world. In the business today, there are so many bright, quick-witted, talented young people coming up that all I can do is sit back, watch, and wish them luck.
www.cbr.com/superman-zack-snyder-richard-donner/As I said previously and I am going to sound harsh......but with old age memory or not....I don't blame Donner forgetting about Snyder at all! Wish I could forget the whole MOS/DC shared universe claptrap too!

I saw this. I think he knows who he is but at his age he probably couldn’t recall at the moment. It’s not like Snyder is a household name like a Spielberg. He probably hasn’t personally met him.

Wish I could forget the whole MOS/DC shared universe claptrap too! I think.... #1: Donner's not young and may not be paying attention to the same headlines as we do--and may well have not given that much time and energy to the Snyder saga or even Superman at this point. #2: Also, he's probably just being a gentleman and respectful whether he remembers Snyder or not...
