pariah you sig just gets better and better. The appalling lack of taste will only continue to devolve as a trend. I got a rep to maintain, after all. ;D

You know in Amadeus how Mozart tells his wife that working on that Requiem Mass is slowly killing him? Yeah, well, I know what that feels like now. ;D
It's coming along quite well. I'm very happy that the soundtrack cues fall into place so well. I really didn't want to have to edit the music. In some parts, I had to crank up the music in order to drown out the temp music, but the dialogue is all audible.
So right now, I've completed the entire movie up to Nuclear Man 2 kidnapping Lacy, except for the Metro Club/NM1 fight. I'll do that last.

I notice that Nuclear Man is a more intelligent character in the complete cut. All the footage isn't available, but as opposed to the final cut of the film, he actually shows some intelligence, and he's not just a fighting automaton. He understands his purpose and his potential. He knows that he can use himself to force USA and USSR into war with each other. He knows how to trick Superman, and use his weakness against him, compassion. That last one is the only one that makes its way into the final cut. There was a single word deleted that would have shown a more intelligent side to him. Nuclear Man asks Lex what he fears. Lex responds that with NM on his side, what is there to fear. Nuclear Man responds "destiny". It's not much, but it does show a more intelligent side. In the script, he has a few more lines here and there that fleshed his character more. I still can't figure out where he was planning to go with Lacy in space when Superman forced that eclipse on him.... I think this movie wins the "Most Egregious Use of the Blue Marble Photograph in a Movie" award.

Well, the movie for all intents and purposes is DONE. Just need to go over it and make sure there aren't any errors in the picture or sound.
I inserted every deleted scene and every missing musical cue, and the whole thing clocks in at 118 minutes. Given that I've added about 4 minutes of material from other sources, there is still over 20 minutes of missing footage out there, including the whole Metro Club scene. I wouldn't mind seeing that someday. If you read the script, you'll be able to figure out what else is missing. It's on Gandy's site for all to read.
Now on to making the isolated score track...

Ever so slightly. The Nuclear Man 1 scenes are definitely more tolerable with Courage's fine score. Unfortunately, the kiddie temp track rears its ugly head every now and then because it overlaps dialogue and SFX. I subdued it best I can, so it shouldn't be THAT bad. When the temp music is at its absolute worst, I simply mute the audio. So occasionally you'll be watching it, and you'll only hear score. It's no big deal, you're only really missing bangs and pops from the sound effects. Nothing at all was done to the deleted scenes to improve the quality, so what you saw on the DVDs is what you're getting. A couple times, I did replace bad shots with other Superman footage, but the "Nuclear Man 2 as a rocket scene" has all the rough footage. The "around the world" fight has all finished effects though, since I substituted unfinished effects with the laserdisc footage. The ending is really lazy. Why did Superman hold the press conference outside the auditorium United Nations? They could have just shot that ending at the same time as his first speech to the UN, as the script called for. Were they THAT strapped for cash that they couldn't use a set they already built. Did they only book a single day at the United Nations auditorium? I liked the alternate footage of people around the world listening to his speech, so I included that. When looking back to see how they edited the theatrical cut there, I noticed that they kept using the same shot of Lois and Jimmy watching him over and over, and a quick ADR by Reeve to replace him leaving to visit Jeremy. ;D

Eh, exporting YouTube clips and posting them takes too long. Besides, I'm still tweaking the whole thing.
