Glad that it got the folks involved with it Oscars, but....
In my opinion- it's a good movie, but took WAYYYY too long to pull me in completely. That it won for best editing is shocking, as I would have lopped off a lot in the first section that felt like it just sat there.
But- hey, it got Short Round and Michecke Yeoh Oscars, and the directors put out nice speeches. (Short Round- not so much.... I'm annoyed that he feels that people shouldn't give up their dreams and sometimes grow up- because what about responsibilities and other factors that force people to have to let them go? Not everyone has a support system that they can only think about their dreams, but, whatever...).
Anyhow, just my thoughts..

Not sure why this isn’t in Don’s Diner, but I’ll chime in.
I thought Everything was worthy of all of its wins. There really needed to be 10 minutes trimmed from the movie though. I left for a refill about 3/4 of the way during it and found that I absolutely didn’t miss anything.
My predictions for Best Picture and Best Foreign Picture were correct. I never fathomed that Brendan Fraser and Ke Huy Quan, who shared a scene in Encino Man, would ever win the Best Actor Oscars together… and at the same time!
I do agree with you on his speech. Not everyone starts their career off with a Spielberg film. I just know Corey Feldman is fuming over him having an Oscar since Feldman always acts like he was destined to be more than just a child actor, despite people like Richard Donner giving him more opportunities to succeed than he deserved.
I’m pissed that despite a perfect opportunity for a Temple of Doom reunion, no photo was taken.

(Though not sure how to shift everything here over there). Back to the Oscars: with Ke's win- hard not to enjoy a winner jumping up and down on stage- that automatically seemed to put a smile on everyone's face. Though- the American dream about winning an Oscar shouldn't be as much in the forefront as a Universal dream about world peace or in a health realm, curing cancer- but then again..... everything lasts about 15 minutes in Hollywood it seems. Still- I'm happy that Ke got it- but he better keep jumping for joy at every event.
