Latest John Campea only put it out as speculation, with other actors Gunn used to work with that MIGHT fit.... but, aside from Will Poulter- Freddie Stroma was mentioned as a possibility. It is too early, but... Thoughts?
(If it's not someone new- Burnett theorizes that Gunn already knows who he wants, but keeping under wraps. And will probably until a LONG time from now.)

I think it’s too soon to speculate. I saw the segment on his show. Campea’s candidates were all over the place. Most of them too old. Gunn may have some idea of who he wants but I don’t think they’ve started the casting process officially. I dont think Superman will be anyone most people expect. It’ll probably be a lesser known actor somewhere around 30 give or take. It won’t be a well known guy the way Campea thinks. It’s not necessary. At most it’ll be someone around Cavill’s level of awareness.

I imagine they're probably looking for someone in early-mid 20s so they're young enough to still look young if a superhero franchise will last 10-20 years. The nice thing about Marvel's success is that actors now WANT to be part of a superhero project that have long-term benefits... to a degree. (Not all, but-) The flip side is - oddly - Iger suggesting that Marvel not continuing to do multiple sequels for a superhero character (I know Feige oddly said he was no longer doing multiple-film contracts but mainly hiring actors that wanted to work with them.... but... that was pretty broad and I'm sure each case will be different in their hiring)... so it looks like Marvel might be more headed into less long-term storytelling with all its characters (less output for sure under Iger's decision) and DC into more- but, will see, depending on how sucessful the box office is for DC.

I think they are just starting the casting process. But wether it’s someone we know or an unknown it’s too soon to say. Gunn may not have his sights set on any specific person. We just don’t know. The difference between now and the past is more younger people have grown up with these types of movies being the norm. Multiple comic book/superhero films a year has been a thing for over 20 years. I think younger actors are more willing to be part of these because they’re fans or it’s fun or theres not as much of a stigma. Marvel needs to cut back but I think Feige wants shorter term deals because he knows more actors would be willing to jump on board if they aren’t locked into a massive amount of films. A six or nine film deal would scare off some interested actors. They could also renegotiate sooner with shorter contracts. Iger knows they shouldn’t burn out and water down some of these franchises. Sometimes it’s good to let them end. It just depends on which ones.

Sometimes it’s good to let them end. It just depends on which ones. I wish I could be a fly on the wall on what's been happening after Avengers:Endgame and Spiderman-No Way Home. Some may disagree- but I do feel like things have jumped off the track a bit in the Marvel Universe..... and it could have been any number of things- but the giant amount of tv shows and movies delivered so fast probably didn't help. Except for Wandavision, I felt most all the shows started off strong, then felt rushed writing wise to unsatisfactory endings. And with the movies- While I enjoy the imperfect Eternals, it's odd that things don't feel as connected as they used to be in the MCU. One theory was that Feige wasn't as much hands on in this phase, another that- again- just too many productions at the same time. Will see, but hope that the ship turns around SOON before more general audiences jump off seeing Marvel movies in the theatres....
