We won't know for sure until the time comes, but....
If Marvel's box office dips lower in general (GOTG is tracking not to necessarily be a billion dollar winner)- will superhero films keep dipping box office wise such that the WB/DC under Gunn is doomed to underwhelm before things even get shot?
I would like to see what's in store- and I would like to think the superhero movie genre isn't on the deathbed...
But...
Quantity (combined with tv) and mediocrity (combined with tv) does take a toll---
And, it's a lotta Superman. Cast Routh and my excitement will return.

No. It’s too soon for anyone to start panicking over what Marvels current box office means. Just because fhey haven’t had anything cross a billion doesn’t mean they haven’t had very successful films in recent years. Wakanda Forever made over $800 million didn’t it. Pretty good considering the circumstances. It’s a very short sighted reactionary view to think everything is suddenly doomed because movies didn’t do exactly what they did before at the box office. I called this years ago when I said this would be a rebuilding phase and people shouldn’t expect the exact same kind of success Marvel Studios will bad before. They had the momentum with the build to Infinity War and once that was done they have to work to get that kind of momentum back. There are a lot of factors at play that don’t necessarily have anything to do with DC or Superman or what Gunn will do. Us fanboys too often have this knee jerk reaction that the sky is falling and don’t really think things through.
