It's very good, but not as polished so as to be in my top ten superhero films.... but still, very good.
It's not a spoiler to mention there's cameos, a good number... but- the neatest ones seem also done in a way that feels a bit chaotic and all over the place.
(UPDATE: On second viewing, actually it's fine- but an oddity comes in comparing the experience with every other superhero film and all the superhero films up to now.... but a bit unfair. The material does tell the story effectively and powerfully at times- but it might be the speed of the rate of 'special' superhero films coming out that the other ones are still fresh in the mind whenever ANY sequence is the slightest bit similar to another superhero film.)
I've read and heard about a ton of deleted cameos and scenes that hopefully show up on the blu ray.
On the flip side..... extremely sad about the bad box office. With this disappointment following Shazam 2 and Ant-Man 3--- I've mentioned my worry and wonder if the general public is not rushing to see superhero films anymore as a special event.
Also.... coming from an era where Star Wars' first release had a one-year anniversary in the theatres- it's odd to see even a giant box office movie like Avatar 2 already leave the theatres.
The two best (in recent times) superhero movie experiences at the theatre I had were Endgame and No Way Home.... no small part with the large audience in anticipation to see it, and it was an event.
Is that kind of a thing of the past now?

The reason I have not watched pretty much the entire last phase of Marvel as well as a decent chunk of DC's latest stuff is because of this chap's reviews:
Now, I will get round to watching all of them at some point, maybe...but it's gonna be for free(basically wait for some friends to lay down the doe and lend me their copy).....and if not so be it....I'll live!
There is a saying that you get what you pay for. But there have been far, far too many occasions in the last 10 years ,where I have payed.....but I definitely have not got what I payed for!
So the only way these studio execs are gonna get the message is when their all too important wallets take a hit.....
As General Zod in MoS would say:
"To the studio execs, I say this.....surrender some quality movies to us(the fans).....or watch your wallets suffer the consequences"

Everyone has their preferences, and I definitely feel like: 'if you pay the ticket price'= then you definitely have a right to complain! (hence=my continued complaining about Lester) Saw the Flash again today and actually liked it much better- but... Here is the thing- Some parts (particulary the first two acts) are VERY well done- BOTH the action scenes (especially in light of all the superhero movies that have preceded it)- and the dramatic scenes have had a strong visual flair to it (especially liked a number of 'one-er' extended money shots that enhanced the story but also were just greatly choreographed shots--- and---- whatever the thoughts might be for the star- he's GREAT in the dual role of both Barry Allens. My disappointment on the first view is primarily with how the third act action sequence is--- it's a key part, and it's functional, but I think the first two acts were stronger- but then it goes back to the personal aspect of the story - and delivers. I do wish I had gone into the movie 'cold'- and thought far higher on it. Seeing trailers and the rave reviews I think made me expect it to be even better- but it is very good, I just wish that it was a little more polished with the Keaton and Calle scenes since they were the main three. Also, I think (perhaps unfairly) any new superhero epic film subconsciously gets (fairly or no) compared to all other epic suphero films- and there's been a lot. For sure, I want the extended cut--- but I don't think we'll ever get one.

That being the case, you can't complain about it! Just kidding! Anyways.....even without seeing Flash, I think I can predict what kind of territory it will be in. But I will reserve judgement until I get my hands on it, one way or another. To be fair, I have seen reviews on youtube ,that have run the gamut from outright praise to complete condemnation, and everything inbetween(which I think is where your review seems to be sitting, dear cam). Just going off from my recollections of the theatrical of JL....I don't recall Ezra's Flash leaving much of an impression on me....but that is now nearly 6 years ago! Could always give that JL UHD disc a spin to refresh meself and work up some enthusiasm for the thing.....but it's kinda hard with what was a sub standard product(theatrical JL) to begin with. Just read in the Daily Mail(awful paper) that Cavill's cameo had been cut: Poor ol' Henry really has been on the receiving end of it, recently! On Edit: Just rewatched the theatrical of JL. Better than I remember it(last viewing was 3-4 years back). Not too keen on Ezra when he is tryin' to be funny.....but when he is serious....he ain't bad. Nice scene between Barry and his father in prison....with a brief cameo from ol 'Marc McLure....kinda forgot about that one!

The guy sitting next to me ate the whole movie up. He attempted a round of applause when Reeve showed up but immediately stopped when he saw Slater’s Supergirl.

Is that kind of a thing of the past now? The Flash was such a mixed bag. I think the good parts are really good but the rest ranges from questionable to cringe inducing. Miller’s performance was very good the problem is I’ve never cared for his take on Barry Allen. The work was solid but his version never really connected with most audiences. I guess that sums up the entire film in some ways. The whole cast tried and many did good work but the story doesn’t resonate enough. They tried to wow people with fan service to cover that but a lot of that was half baked. It’s a fun movie for much of its run time but nothing special. The baggage of the DCEU was also a weight around the films neck.
