Almost finished viewing it.... even though I've seen Helen Slater on different panels, this one really suprised me - she's always seemed candid on panels, but this one I think goes into areas that aren't usually talked about on comic panels. There's a lot on the Supergirl stuff, but even more on just her life perspectives over time. Classy person.

ATP: CAM thank god (Reeve Only People look at him).... I mean GET HIM! Regarding Helen Slater...she was SUPER hot in Supergirl. And it was totally understandable why the two truckers tried to hit on her. My only complaint about the movie was why did Supergirl beat them up? They were just trying to be nice to Supergirl and one even said she won a "brass ring." Although Supergirl cruelly hurt the two innocent truckers before they could award her the prize....

She did it because the brass ring gave her unlimited freedom to maim, kill, destroy.

Maybe Supergirl beat them up because she had of all of that without them. The truckers cannot bargain with what they don't have.

Thanks crown! I thought Slater was a perfect Supergirl… but far different than Benoist’s on tv, who was great on tv.

Welcome back CAM.
Hope you are as well as you can be under the circumstances.
Thanks also for the Slater link.
Seems like a very dignified person.
And I think she portered that dignity over to her portrayal.....which still holds up IMHO(no matter what the deficiencies of the film as a whole are).

She does seem very dignified- but also she doesn't seem like someone with any bitterness at the situations post-Supergirl, but appreciative of all that she got- plus, at conventions, it's interesting to see that her presence in the movie as the character was strong enough to give a lot of fans great memories of the movie.... despite the movie being overall- well, bad. But- I always looked at it with a glass half-full perspective. She's in her bandana-free classic costume and looks like the character come to live action. I love parts of the movie (the production values, Slater photographed great as Supergirl in the flying scenes and the score).... so it sits on the blu ray shelf next to Superman IV.

Funny that Supergirl and Superman 4 were the first two “super” movies I saw. I was so young that in my head Superman and Supergirl fought Nuclear man together but I didn’t realize that they weren’t technically in the same movie.

I do admit/know that fantasy films and material that comes at one during a certain age is given a lot of forgiveness... I ate up comic books when at a very young age, so I don't have issues with enjoying superhero films- but then again, I have no real connection to the Transformer films, which came later and it's harder for me to buy into the whole mythos that others enjoyed with growing up with it. So- when I hear fans adored Supergirl or Superman IV as their first and best films over the originals, I can kind of get why depending on exposure and age of such.

If Reeve had been in Supergirl what I would he have done to the truckers in lovers lane? The original script was ok with Reeve's appearance- but compared to the fast script that tried to patch the holes that were created by Reeve's departure from the project- and the final movie... it looked like Shakespeare! If the original script was able to give Superman more depth and make it more equal, I think Reeve might have stayed. With the script as it was, it was too much of a supporting role most likely for Reeve to want to stick around for where he was at in his career. Still... with the amount of money and resources committed, if the original script was used and Reeve had stayed on, I do think it's very likely it would have made ENOUGH money (or slightly more) to have guaranteed a sequel on some level.

With "Inside of You"- Agreed- I don't know how common it is now, but I was suprised how open and personal many of Rosenbaum's interviews are on his youtube show. Oftentimes, they get REALLY deep.

He’s a good host and interviewer. It also doesn’t hurt that he’s speaking to actors and he’s also an actor. He’s had similar experiences and can relate to his guests which probably makes them more comfortable.
