Glad to see the trunks seem to have returned, Cavil looked naked without them.
Colors are on point, interesting to have the turtle neck.
The suit looks a bit thick tho, how is he going to conceal it under his shirt?

I'm getting sick of all these new costumes with their stupid textures and dark, dirty colours.
Nothing can outshine the plain costume from the Reeve-only movies.
Based on the picture, I already predict the movie will be crap. Not just because of the costume. But also the generic look of it all, right down to the typical plasma ball in the sky.

At least the cape and boots are RED instead of brown like in SR. And he's got the trunks unlike MOS.
The spit curl has returned as well and it looks natural unlike Rouths dipped in wax glued-on backwards curl or Cavill's receded hairline no-curl.
Hopefully the Reeve Only People will give this movie a chance.

I'm getting sick of all these new costumes with their stupid textures and dark, dirty colours. Nothing can outshine the plain costume from the Reeve-only movies. Based on the picture, I already predict the movie will be crap. Not just because of the costume. But also the generic look of it all, right down to the typical plasma ball in the sky. I’m mixed to positive on Corenswets costume. It’s a step up from Cavill’s overdesigned edgelord nonsense but not as good as Routh’s Crisis/Kingdom Come suit or Hoechlin’s Superman & Lois costumes. I’m happy to see the red trunks are back. I like the boots. The colors look bolder than Cavill’s suits as well. I wish the suit wasn’t as covered in lines and seams but it looks like they want it to be more of a “uniform” and less of a “costume.” It’s very much got a New 52 comics meets Kingdom Come comic meets Superman & Lois feel to it. I’d prefer if it were more streamlined and didn’t have the high neckline but otherwise I think it’s an ok attempt. Seeing it in motion with him upright will give us a much better idea of how this suit will look in action. |

Didn’t care for the high collar in new 52 nor here… I’m sure it’ll be a good movie… but the further this gets away from the original … it feels like not the version of Superman I’d want as THE Superman film… oh well The thing is this is getting closer to the original than any version we’ve had in a while. Excluding Superman Returns this is the first big screen version to have the yellow belt and the red trunks since Reeve. Didn’t you want that? Much of this film seems to be going back to classic Superman. Gunn asked. You got it. |

My literal only two concerns with this costume:
1) did it HAVE to look baggy? I know it's probably the posture but it looks like he's cosplaying cause it's not fit right
2) The high collar bugs me a bit. but it's mostly me being claustrophobic LOL
Other than reserving all other judgement until there's a trailer

The S looks ridiculous. And so does the stupid pattern and detailing. Looks like a scuba diving wetsuit combined with Robocop.
When will these fools realise that less is more, and stop overcomplicating the costume.
It was perfect in 1978. It does not need to be 'modernised'.

Like the trunks and belt. Love the S. Really love that the yellow S is on the cape again. Fit of the top part could be better but there might be a reason for that. Need to see it in action in the finished film. Even the collar looks lower. It looked higher in the first officially released photo. |

Also those people in the non military uniforms aren’t the army. That part is going to be very different from MOS. Anti MOS in some ways. |

Who are those 3 meant to be? Kryptonians? No. That’s Frank Grillo as Rick Flagg Sr on the left. Flagg is a soldier turned government agent. That’s supposedly a version of Ultraman on the right and The Engineer further right. Ultraman is an Evil Superman but this version looks very different. The Engineer is one of the WildStorm era “heroes” from the 90s who was part of edgy violent gritty teams like Stormwatch and The Authority. If the rumors are true this film might be taking some loose inspiration from comic book stories like Kingdom Come and What’s So Funny About Truth, Justice, and the American Way aka Superman vs The Elite. In those stories Superman stood in opposition to those kinds of dark heroes and anti heroes and as a more bright hopeful truly inspirational figure. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Corenswet is wearing a Kingdom Come inspired logo on his chest. I think that at least thematically this story is going to be similar to those comic book stories and Superman will represent something more better. There have been rumors that The Authority will be part of Gunns DCU. The Engineer is part of The Authority. I think elements of this film will be a rebuke of films like Man of Steel and Snyders opinion on Superman and the DC universe. |

The costume looks way better than SR and also better than MOS. The SR costume was poop brown and piss yellow with a cape that looked like a shower curtain stuffed into a collar that was cutting off Routh’s circulation. And the MOS suit, while decent overall, never looked quite right with out the trunks.
Aside from the design of the S and the collar this suit is pretty much perfect. The colors are spot on and we (finally) have the yellow s shield on the cape again.
If this suit had the MOS shield and a lower collar it would pretty much be perfect.
I’m glad that they are not giving in to the “Reeve Only People” and going with the 78 outfit. That suit looked like a leotard that a female ballerina would wear… Reeve only got away with it because he was 6”4 and put on 90 pounds of muscle for the role.
It’s a little strange that Clark has an Afro though… I guess it helps with his disguise.
Also Lois looks hot. At least Lois isn’t played by a 14 year old (Kate Bosworth) this time.
I can only hope that the plot doesn’t involve a real estate swindle this time…. if it does I’m sure ATP will proceed to urinate on the movie screen in front of a shocked audience and proclaim it crap just like he did with Man of Steel.
