That might be intentional. They look to be cooperate uniforms. Note the similar design patterns for the others and the matching team insignia on the chests. It’s something we haven’t seen even with Gunns other superhero films. We’ve seen matching uniforms but not like this. Not so glossy and corporate.

You know that SIV is as far away from SR as SR will be to Superman 2025?

19 years both ways.

I knew right from the start that SR would be garbage when we saw Rouths horrible “evil Superman” suit. It was just so brown, brown cape brown boots and Routh even had brown hair.

At least this suit is proper bright primary colors and Corenswets hair is proper black.

I agree. Also the swooshing credits in SR looked like shiit, there was no weight to them. The Donner Cuts credits looked better.

Then the movie opens like a horror movie with Lex having sex with an octogenarian. There were so many shots of Superman at night but you couldn't see him without the bright red cape illuminating the night sky.

I see ATP is still sat around rubbishing anything that doesn’t resemble or mimic a dated film from nearly 50 years ago. I mean get a fucking life pal honestly. Stick with your Superman The Movie and just forget everything else. Imagine thinking they’d make a film in 2024 and send the main character out in Reeve’s original spandex/lycra outfit, which like it or not, does look ridiculous now. He would absolutely be laughed off by anyone not still stuck in 1978 and personally offended by any attempt to make a film different to Donner’s original. Stick with the 1978 film and forget any other incarnation, you’ll be happier.

I honestly can’t even remember how it came about, but the fact he’s still sitting on a near empty forum ranting about it over a decade later is jarring and maybe even slightly concerning.

Today was my first post in over 11 years. I am digging around old posts checking out what happened. Sames it is a lot to do with different opinions on MOS. I stopped posting and deleted my account for different reasons back in 2013. It's very errie.

Did you get an email too? That’s the only reason I remembered this place exists. And it probably was something to do with that, if memory serves me right a couple of the guys were personally offended by it and couldn’t stop whinging. Apparently at least one of them is still stewing over it 11 years later. Ironically none of the old gang really talk anymore for various reasons, they certainly sit about sulking over something that happened over a decade ago.

But I can save you all the hassle of reading ATP’s posts on the new film and just tell you that short of bringing out the Williams theme with Reeve’s lyrca onesie and basically all of the Reeve tropes, he won’t like it any of it haha.

More like certain people who left couldn't get over some others having differing opinions on the movie because they wanted it to succeed.

The same people who left trashed other "bad" Superman movies for years on these forums non stop and not picking every little thing but didn't like when others had complaints about one they liked. The hypocrisy there was off the charts.

One of the old posters who left and joined the Facebook group some members of the "old gang" started came back and said something along lines of there wasn't much freedom to have differing opinions on the Facebook group. So the issues ran much deeper than the dissenters here ten years ago. Sounds like a lot of the "issues" went with them.

The board BEFORE this one split right down the middle over petty issues and we ended up with two sides and two forums. More proof that the issues ran much deeper.

Hi doomsday I did indeed get an email, which reminded me and sent me straight on this nostalgia trip. When I last posted I could see the Diner but not since 2013. It looks like I wasn't missed lol! I have caught up with a lot of the arguments that caused the decline. This place use to be a great forum and I think a lot of that was because we were young adults and the Reeve movies sent us here, largely due our childhoods. But that was a different time, and life moves on - marriage, kids etc. I was constantly on these forums back in the early 00s. Crazy when you think about it investing that much time but I enjoyed the debates and the Zod wars. Crazy as it sounds but Chance was so entertaining. It would be hilarious to have a Superman Cinema reunion for a day or two but the reality is that's not possible. It's been like over a decade and I am sure we have moved on from our arguments. However whatever the Facebook forum was, it must be still raw to a lot of people. I had stopped posting by that stage, not that I would have been welcomed anyway lol.
