Personally, I like to watch them alone or on the odd occasion with another fan. I find the movies deep and personal to me, because I watched them from a young age - lots of nice memories. I don't like distractions etc - I like to be in my 'zone'. Also, for me I have to have the best possible sound that I can achieve. Which might explain why I couldn't decide between the '78 audio or the new 5.1. So sometimes I will listen on headphones to achieve the intimate loudness of the movie or if nobody is around I'll blast it through the speakers.  How do you like to watch the Superman movies? Please share. |

I watch Superman every few months, though it's really gotten old recently because of all the fan cutting.
I tend to have films that I can watch over and over without ever getting tired of them. They include BTTF, Superman, Star Wars trilogy, Trek 2-4, and Hunt for Red October.
I used to watch the 2001 DVD all the time, but once we got the theatrical cut with the 1978 audio, that's all I watch.

my wife adores superman returns, but loathes superman3 .
the kids like STM and SR.
i NEED them all.
so- i watch a LOT of superman , late at night with some brewskis , with the whole fam, by myself . depends on which one.
for a few weeks after the box set came out iwas addicted to watching them with the commentaries.

STM: a couple of glasses of scotch(rocks) and 2 or 3 viagra.
II: bourbon (no rocks), 2 1/2 lorotab, a peppermint stick, and maybe cold cuts.
III: same as II but with twice the bourbon and substituting cold cuts with cocaine.
IV: morphine drip, if applicable, otherwise not at all.
Returns: 12 pack of domestic beer and pop rocks.

Veri and I had a discussion some time ago on the other board about watching Superman, or my lack thereof. Since 2006, I've been pretty burned out on Superman. I got the box set and watched all the classics, but I haven't watched anything other than Smallville since spring 2007. Even when I got my first HDTV last summer, I had it in the back of my mind to watch it, but I just can't.
I have the rest of this week off from work, so I may have a movie night. Get some popcorn, a Coca-Cola and give it a go.

i hardly watch the superman films these days but i would watch them all at least twice a year always with a 6 pack of tooheys

Superman The Movie
Superman II (My version of it)
Superman Returns
All once per year. Sometimes more.
III & IV, whenever the mood hits. Prolly every 3 or 4 years.

On an evening when the minister for war is out, kids in bed, couple of cold ones in the fridge, crank up the cinema system.

Alone once a year. With a friend or girl or whoever another time.
Twice a year is about average. I used to make STM the first movie I'd watch when I moved into a new place.

I love watching STM, SII and SR at least one time a year with my lady! Am I the only one who when hew watches the movie feels that he's been part of the production...I don't know if it's because I've been watching this my all life? You know it's like when you love sport and your best team is on TV...it's like you are part of the team! It's like that to me! ;D
