I'm also getting sick of these superspeed takeoffs. They look fake and have none of the grace that they should have. Also getting tired of seeing the ground crack and shatter on takeoffs. And same goes for seeing particles of sand and stones swirling around. All that c.rap needs to go away already. Save that for Ironman. What are you talking about? Iron man doesn't fly like that. Do you mean Thor? Iron mans landings are pretty much *hover a couple of feel off the ground, repulsors turn off, and he drops* not enough to shatter the earth. The take offs are like rockets but there's no floating particles of debris. He doesn't negate gravity like in MOS. Guy doesn't have a clue haha!

While it's no secret I preferred Routh in the role (the recent photo on Facebook with Routh and Benoist together confirmed it for me- boy, they look great as Kal and Kara), what they did with Tyler is acceptable enough to me.... but much of it is how it was written, and how they had that world treat Superman. Very much the traditional take--- not the dark Superman... and happy enough for that.

I think he was a lot stronger than Routh if I'm honest.

collider.com/the-cw-death-of-superman/Hadn't even thought of this.... but if so, that's a BRILLIANT way (and a great character arc) to distinguish this version of the Superman mythos. Having Superman 'die'--- but not necessarily come back (or at least for a full season) would give Kara a great journey to feel the shift and take her cousin's place as the sole protector of Earth. Interesting....

Interesting.... Doesn't look like we will see it anytime soon. Looks like this is going to be a per appearance deal at best. I have thought doing TDOS or something similar would solve the Superman problem but if they do mine the story do it right. Don't give us garbage adaptations or inspired episodes like BvS or Smallvilles Doomsday arc. BVS p!ssed away the whole story. Between Mon El and the Invasion crossover i think we will be seeing a few more super powered heroes on Supergirl. Anyway...I enjoyed episode 2. Hated the Lou Grant version of Snapper Carr. He has absolutely nothing to do with the comic book Snapper. May as well have been a new character. The tension with Superman and J'onn was interesting and that had to be hands down the best version of Metallo/John Corbin we've ever seen in live action. He even had an accent reminiscent of Malcolm McDowells which was a nice touch that I thought added to the character. Alex Danvers is right up there as far as being DC tv's answer to Shields Melinda May or Maria Hill.

After posting, I read how Berlianti asked for an episode in the beginning and they let him have two.... so, I guess there's no real 'master plan' yet and as neat as I think the idea might sound, keeping Superman alive for future use is probably smart.... though I'd argue that they could still kill him off for a year- let Kara deal with taking over his responsibilities- then have him resurrected ONCE like in the comics, if they chose. But- anyhow- I'm just hoping this season is better than the first. I liked most of the first, but here's hoping this one is better.
