This is what Brandon said regarding Superman in this interview, Do you ever hear anything about another Superman movie? You get better news probably on the Internet these days than you can out of me. I think they're still dealing with the legal issues, the rights of the character. You'll know as soon as I do, I'm sure. blog.zap2it.com/frominsidethebox/2010/01/chuck-brandon-routh-joins-the-team.html.

Brandon Routh on Chuck, Scott Pilgrim, Dead of Night and Superman,www.iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=8177:exclusive-interview-brandon-routh-is-hanging-with-chuck-&catid=43:exclusive-features&Itemid=73This is part of what he said on Superman, IESB: When you started your acting career, could you ever have imagined that you'd be playing superheroes, spies and comic book characters? Does it feel like you're getting to live out all of your childhood fantasies through your work?
Brandon: It's pretty cool. I don't know what I expected. I certainly don't think I expected to play Superman. Comics weren't even that big, at the time. I started in late ‘99, and that was before all the comic book movies came out. The Matrix had just come out, the year before. There's one thing left that I haven't done, and that's to be in a medieval type film and sword fight. That will happen at some point, I'm sure, but that's the one that I'm still looking forward to.
IESB: Have you heard anything at all on the status of the Superman franchise? Is that something that you want to go back to?
Brandon: I would love to go back to Superman. As I have matured, as a person and as an actor, I feel like I have a lot more to give and would love to revisit the character, if I am given that opportunity. That was an amazing experience for me, and I look forward to doing it again, if I have the opportunity. And if not, then I move on and continue on. I'm grateful for all the other opportunities that I have and for the great films that I have coming out this year.
IESB: So you haven't actually heard anything from them, at this point?
Brandon: No, I have not.

See this is why the WB are cluessless a-holes, they dont give a crap about the fans. What is the big deal to put superman in a cameo.. Dont they realize that we're craving for sups. There nothing but rich, brainless, pompass snobs over there at WB.....

Its not worth the hassle getting pissed off in the end, because if this works we could potentially have many other superhero films approached and put into production.
All WB have seemed to pull out of their collective butts is batman and more batman basically over the last couple of decades.
Think of GL as a gateway drug to a Flash film!

At this point, I'd be REALLY surprised at any news for a Superman movie.
I consider it as dead a franchise as Batman.
(I truly don't think there will be a sequel to Dark Knight)

Nope.
If anything, expect a Batman reboot. Reboots are in!
Warner Brothers and NBC should merge. Y'know why? It's like killing two birds with one stone.

There's a small part of me that hopes Dark Knight doesn't get a sequel, since people often like to point to the lack of a Superman Returns sequel as proof of the film's failure.

Mindless a-holes

Seems unreal to think of the anticipation 4 years ago, almost like a dream now.

There will be a 3rd Batman film. The big question is whether nolan will do it. Everyone else is contracted for a 3rd film. I doubt WB would want to reboot when it could make a sequel to the highest grossing Batman film yet. I'm pretty sure WB is waiting for Nolan to finish Inception and to make up his mind. But if they don't have an answer by Summer, things will get rolling for another director.

I certainly hope there'll be another. Despite TDK's shortcomings, I certainly would look forward to another and seeing where he goes next. Would be a shame if Nolan doesn't do it but not the end of the world.

What's the lesson here, kiddies? Contracts are null.

Movie contracts for sequels have always been tentative, though. It just means that when there is a sequel, the central players will be back in their respected roles and more importantly...not paid outrageously.

What's the lesson here, kiddies? Contracts are null. A contract doesn't garrentee a sequel by any means, I was just pointing out that there would probably be a 3rd Batman film, before a reboot happens to the franchise. I'm a huge Conan and Superman Returns fan but the difference between your examples and TDK is that TDK was a MASSIVE money making success. WB would be absolutely stupid (FLAT OUT RETARDS) to not do a follow up to TDK. Whether I agree with them or not, I can see legit reasons why the respective studios felt the SR and Conan contract being null. But Batman didn't have Tim Burton trying to regain the franchise while Nolan was in the middle of revamping it either ;D

It's been 18 months since TDK was released and we've heard nothing of a sequel.
Seems to me the morons aren't doing a sequel.

From what I have heard they are interested in keeping Nolan, he's busy with Inception. Pretty sure they are waiting for his response. If there is going to be a (Nolan) sequel we will know by Summer.

WB would be absolutely stupid (FLAT OUT RETARDS) ;D They are stupid mindless retards allready. this just adds to it.... True, it really wouldn't surprise me. But with many of things fans disagree with WB about how they have treated Superman, one can at least find some sense of reason why they are hesitant to go further. If $$$$ is all that matters they really would be proved to inept stupid fucking retards for letting another Batman film go. Hopefully they are taking it slow to allow Nolan and Co. time to finish Inception and come up with a batfilm that will live up to the hype. I think Nolan pretty much has WB eating out of his hand.

Interesting article, Brandon Routh: A Superman For All Seasons?itsjustmovies.com/5666/comment-page-1#comment-3550And here is a pic of Brandon from Chuck. His character, Shaw, ocassionaly wears glasses ala Clark. An obvious cool nod to the Superman franchise.
