Julian Darius is a DC fanboy. He's posted reviews of Thor calling it "a pretty relentlessly stupid movie" and has even done a sort of 'time-travel' review of classic comics Amazing Fantasy 15, Spider-man 1, Hulk 1, etc, etc.....bashing them, of course.
That 1st poster is pretty cool!

That poster is cool but it just highlights how wrong Bosworth was for Lois at the time. She looks all of 12 years old.

She didn't look 12, though I'm pretty sure you're just joking..
She looked like in her early 20s or so, imo. I still bought her as a mommy. I'm one, I know.

I just felt she looked and acted far to young for a Lois Lane who is supposed to be in that particular place in her life. years after not only meeting Superman but becoming a successful reporter, then meeting ANOTHER man, then having a child. I think they should have cast someone like Rachel McAdams who even then came off as a little more mature than Bosworth. Its really the same problem they had with Katie Holmes in Batman Begins. Actually I've noticed it happens in a lot of superhero movies lately. Alba also had the same problems as Sue Storm If Superman Returns has been an origin story I probably would have bought Bosworth in the role more. Thats just me though.

Bosworth's problem wasn't so much that she was too young looking for the role (although, she sorta was considering that timeline), but that you could see her lips moving as she was reading the cue cards. She can't act. At all.

Yes she Can act. I liked her a lot in some parts.
No, she's not my ideal Lois, I think Posey fits the role better, but Kate wasn't terrible either. She was just too young for the role, imo.

I enjoyed SR...but I thought Bosworth was terrible in it. You could see she was acting. She was terrible.

Bosworth was pretty bad. Definitely my least favorite performance/casting decision in Superman Returns. She didn't bring any of the Lois Lane wit or feistiness to the table, though (like Routh) her performance may have been held back by the quality of the writing. You can't blame a certain line reading on the script, though...

Routh feels like the definitive Superman. He looks the part even better than Reeve

Bosworth was absolute wank in the film.
It was as if she'd won a competition to be in it

That's funny.... I totally agree about Katie Holmes sticking out like a sore thumb- mainly because she has a face that makes her look REALLY young.... let alone be someone with a presence to be an assistant district attorney in Batman Begins, but didn't have any real problems with Bosworth.
Katie Holmes and Rachel McAdams can both act....but I see them both as WAYYY too young (or look way too young) to have been Lois. Bosworth I thought pulled it off, as a young mom. Was she a perfect fit for Lois? No, (but neither was Langella perfect for Perry White) but I think she did a good enough job and Singer made her look beautiful in the role. And, yeah, she got the job because of Spacey's movie where he had directed her.
As far as Jessica Alba goes....ough. Pretty gal, but can't act AT ALL. Compared to her, Bosworth is Meryll Streep.

I take it that's in the 3rd act - DVD chapter skipping comes in handy at that point...

For a while I didn't think it was actually going to be made so I couldn't get too interested. Since these pics have come out, my interest has been shooting up. Pretty much like (most) everyone else really

Wasn't sure where to post this.. mods can move it if you think it belongs somewhere else. So I saw this post on tumblr.com. Just doesn't sound right. I think most superheroes can be taken seriously if written right. I mean, a lot of the things Batman does are not really realistic. “Superheroes fill a gap in the pop culture psyche, similar to the role of Greek mythology. There isn`t really anything else that does the job in modern terms. For me, Batman is the one that can most clearly be taken seriously. He`s not from another planet, or filled with radioactive gunk. I mean, Superman is essentially a god, but Batman is more like Hercules: he`s a human being, very flawed, and bridges the divide.” —

He's not bashing Superman no matter how you or others may try to twist his meaning. Also, I'd assume that was said while he was filming one of the Batman films. People really need to try and lay off this moronic "competition" that seems to be starting between SR and MoS. It has made both this thread and the MoS thread a whole lot less fun to read.

Agreed. Its like the retarded Prequel/LotR "competitions". Both sets of film can co-exist.
MoS is a brand new interpretation so there is no competition with SR. I get the feeling people will not be comparing Cavill to Routh (the way Routh was to Reeve) because of that. A good thing IMO; Cavill needs his own identity and interpretation. Poor Routh pretty much had to clone Reeve which was not a smart move; he'll always be compared to Reeve instead of standing on his own merits. Of course if he had have done a few sequels, he might have come into his own. Think Roger Moore in Spy who loved me.
