Snyder can make great-looking mayhem. He just has giant problems with drama that isn't a voice-over sequence. Maybe it's good to bring a cellphone to keep entertained texting or calling other people in between action sequences at the movie theatres.  |

These two comments perfectly express why I enjoy SR much more than TDK (plus Spacey was just as enjoyable as Ledger, imo.   Yeah, they're like brothers Almost. They even share the lack of hair. ;D Looks ok to me. And if anything, the SR suit looks waaay more natural (and supermanish) than the MOS one, lmao! ;D If we took the red from Cavils suit and the blue from Rouths suit we MIGHT actually get something that looks like Superman. ;D I don't mind a darker blue but jeez Cavills suit looks like a dingy faded thing that got left in the wash to long and then got rolled around in motor oil. There's no richness to the color at all. That side by side really drives it home. If we took the blue from Cavills suit and the red from Rouths suit we'd have this   |

at least Cavill's suit is correctly proportioned.
Rouths huge padded shoulders and his skinny neck just didnt look right atall.
The very first picture of him released as superman was horrific in terms of his shoulders looking fucked up.
The platform boots and burgandy cape just didnt do it either.

The very first picture of him released as superman was horrific in terms of his shoulders looking fucked up. The platform boots and burgandy cape just didnt do it either. Yep nothing like having a belt buckle for no fucking reason and fishscales that looked like they were pulled out of the BP oil spill. Snyderman...fighting for truth justice and The Atlantean way. Cavill might need Rouths moon boots more than Routh did. Or an apple box...or something  If they loved the trunkless look so much why the heck did they go to all the trouble to hide it in shadows in the first official pic of Cavill? Huge padded shoulders vs fake looking rubber abs...we'll call that a draw  Oh and tell Cavill that Wonder Woman called and she wants her wrist bracelets back. ;D |

I've been saying what i like about the movie so far and what I don't from the little we know about it. I'll go see it regardless so its not a question of me giving it a chance. if I like it I like it. If I don't I don't. I was skeptical about Captain America and Green Lantern this summer and one blew me away and the other didn't. MOS will get the same chance they both got with me. I'm not gonna kiss its ass no matter what though. If WB wants me to see it and like it they need to show what they can do like Fox and Marvel did this summer. |

This movie TRULY needs to be fucking amazing or DC is DONE. Marvel is just sweeping the floor with them. It's embarrassing. It's really embarrassing to prefer DC over Marvel and see what's happening with the movies.
As you said, if I like it, I like it. If I don't, I don't. I don't think the blinders are on anymore. I'm starting to see things for what they really are, vs. childhood bias.

I really liked Routh, got nothing against the guy atall so im not berating him personally. About the last part, it seems thats whats bothering you, that some of us are a bit excited and like what we've seen so far. To have a go at his height when you havent even seen how he'll look on film yet is a tad harsh. I mean lets face it, Rouths boots were ridiculous, i was just saying. The designer should have been shot for those alone. I actually agree with you regarded the blue in this new suit, but to me its still a HUGE step up given it doesnt have the horrible burgandy and platform boots. |

I can't get the anticipation mustered up for this whole process AGAIN. If its good...good. The last Superman movie WB produced wasn't exactly a home run. With movie prices only going up I'm just wanting to see more effort put into making these things good. You know I love Superman but at this point I don't feel like towing the line. WB's in the business to make money and if they want to do that they need to put out and promote the best product they can instead if more crap. I'm starting to wait for home video for most movies, really. They come out three months later, even if you BUY them, it's cheaper than going to the movies, and if you rent them via whatever method? Fuck. No reason to go to theaters anymore.
Except for the big ones. Or the ones that SHOULD be big.

Thought that film looked visually impressive from small clips I saw of it, but heard it was shit from other folk. Looked great. Nice action scenes, but some of the main ideas were not only bad--- but then it took screen time to force you to take them seriously.
If it had been one big mindless music video, it would have been far more palatable. Trying to disguise it as an important serious film was the most insulting part.
"Watchmen" disappointed, because he had a fantastic story to begin with, and blew giant parts of it. That's the worry. Nolan/Goyer's script may be fantastic, but Snyder's ability to create BAD drama might overpower it...

Just hate it when they cut scenes or part of for time. Ugh!

I remember when STM was shown sometime in the late 80s and they cut out the scene right after the helicopter rescue and the rescue cat sequence.
If you're going to cut anything out of STM then surely trimming the Otis walk is where to start?
