It's a brilliant take. Years of people griping "if Lois is such a great investigative reporter, how does she not possibly know Clark is Superman?" If she is onto it from the very beginning, they nip that complaint in the bud from the get-go.

In comparison to what? Superman doesn't need to be a god to be impressive. to the film versions...Moving the moon, lifting a continent, lifting the fault line, spinning the earth backwards, taking a bullet point blank to the eye....yada yada yada.. I don't want him scaled back to much to where he just picks up cars or school buses...which imo that's the route there going to take..IMO superman has god like powers end of story... And with your last point, just curious, whats your perception on superman being impressive without god like powers. I mean any lame ass superhero can pick up a car.

Uh just based from the trailers, I don't see this Superman being "weak". Everyone calm down.

Yeah, Superman's power levels are the least of my worries.

I personally want him to be less powerful. I would love to see him like he is in the animated series.

The biggest concern of mine is based on one question: will this film have heart?
What made the original work so well was the heart of the movie. It's earnest, in the writing, in the handling of the material, in the acting. Superman isn't a cynical character, even though he can be protrayed as having heart in spite of living in cynical times.....
...So, will this new movie have heart? If not, it will fail. The only thing I don't like about this costume is the half-assed belt and its placement. Otherwise, this might be my favorite Superman suit ever... If this movie makes me feel as good as Captain America, Avengers, or Dark Knight Rises did, then it will be a success in my eyes. 100% agree. what i want is "avengers-BIG" with batman begins/captain america as the guise for tone. I love the idea that she's chasing the "Superman" st ory before he's even Superman, and instead it's like he's a UFO or something. Is he an angel? Who is this guy that seems to be around whenever people are rescued from certain death at the last second? It's a really cool angle rather than the "Lois is in love with Superman because he saves her..." she's like jack mcgee chasing the hulk legend...except she's a milfy cougar! It's a brilliant take. Years of people griping "if Lois is such a great investigative reporter, how does she not possibly know Clark is Superman?" If she is onto it from the very beginning, they nip that complaint in the bud from the get-go. exactly. it seems there is a concerted effort to remove/amend any element that has lent itself to parody.

CUE: johnny carson impression: i...did not know this...val- did you know this? Adams has been a little cagey about revealing too much about her take on the most famous female reporter in comics in the past - as the entire cast of Man Of Steel have - but in an interview with Total Film she opens up..a little! When quizzed about Lois' relationship with Superman in this movie Adams hints at a bit of conflict early on. "I'd say that they're at odds and then they're...friends you know!" You probably already know that Adams actually read for the role previously, but did you know she read for it twice? "When J.J. Abrams and Brett Ratner were planning a version, I actually did a screen test with Matt Bomer," says the actress. "And then when Superman Returns came round I read again. So this is my third go at it." Sounds like she really wanted to play this character then. But will she bring anything new to yet another incarnation of Lois Lane? "I wanted her to be a woman other women could relate to. And not be sort of a pest. Lois can be kind of omnipresent, turning up at very inconvenient times - which she does! - But you understand her reasons." Adams also briefly discusses her action scenes for the film. She says she didn't have that much to do, but most of her green screen/stunt work was for scenes with "another actor". I'm guessing that's Michael Shannon's Zod, but who knows! Be sure to pick up the latest issue of Total Film for much more on Man Of Steel. Read more at www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/notyetamovie/news/?a=75820#4KGdDXBoEEMVEr1p.99
wow. it must have been meant to be. 3 versions of the film and she's right there. a LOT like cavill, who narrowly lost to bomer, who in turn was traded for routh. A few more interesting tidbits and revelations from the latest issue of Total Film magazine which features interviews with Man of Steel's Zack Snyder, Henry Cavill and David Goyer.
Henry Cavil Zack Snyder Man of SteelZack Snyder on his interpretation of a character that many feel has become outdated in the current society.
"We've tried to make a Superman movie where he does stuff and you go, 'Yeah, if I was Superman, that's what I'd do.' Even though he's an alien, he's more relatable, more human."
Screenwriter David Goyer says there's [thankfully] a lot in the film that's still a secret.
"It's something Chris [Nolan] tried hard to do with the Batman films. I'm genuinely pleased with how much secrecy we've been able to maintain. There's so much of the movie that people don't know, that hadn't been touched upon. The trailer's just the tiniest, tiniest tip of the iceberg."
Goyer goes on to assure that this film is not a Christopher Nolan Batman film.
"Relatable and realistic doesn't necessarily mean dark. I think it would be inappropriate for us to approach a Superman film as if we were doing The Dark Knight. The Batman films are a lot more nihilistic; Superman has always been a story about hope."
As for Superman himself, Henry Cavill says the film is a nice blend of action and substance.
"Sometimes you want to watch a whiz-bang movie. Other times you want something introspective, that really provokes something inside. This hits a wonderful medium between the two." I love how you conveniently ignored the Fleischer and Dini-Timm cartoons when quoting me. You know, the versions of Superman where he isn't a god on Earth, but is still a powerhouse and still takes on larger-than-life menaces and battles them head-on. The versions where we get alien invaders, robot armies, mad science, and only one man to take them down. The versions where he breaks a sweat to get the job done, but the odds are so stacked against him that his victories matter that much more. You want my idea of an impressive Superman who isn't a dues ex machina? Watch those cartoons and you'll have your answer. And frankly, a lot of the stunts he pulled in the movies were over the top, especially as the Reeve films wore on. A powerful Superman is one thing. An absurd one is another entirely.

That would be nice.... I just wish the writers' and filmmakers' track records on movies (including Nolan) I had more faith in.
Their resume is certainly far stronger than someone like a Ratner, or Mark Steven Johnson (who I'd REALLY dread at the helm), but I am suprisingly finding myself getting more caught up in the excitement at this point for the film, too.
As far as Lois knowing who Supes is right off the bat..... well..... I grew up on superhero adapations (that I wasn't crazy about) where they CONSTANTLY changed things from the comic arbitrarily.
If the movie overall shows that they could deliver something better by making these departures from the comics, then, fine..... but I hope they have a good reason and it's not just a similar reason to having Superman not be with Lois in the current comics (which isn't really improving the quality of the comic all that much imo).
Wondering if there's another trailer due soon, though....

What's funny as heck to me is that six years ago, Amy Adams would have been believable in age to have a 5-year-old. Not a child like Bosworth. I'm not saying she would have saved "Superman Returns," but it might have been more bearable in spots.

In that last photo, the costume looks like a foil wrapper. Like if Lois tore it off, Kal would be made of Nestle Crunch bar, and she could go to town, especially if she's on the rag and hunkering for chocolate. Right?

Well.... beyond that it was how they met in the original comics, I kind of like the idea of two strangers destined to be linked forever meet after they're established----rather than being part of their origin.
Sort of like how I prefered "Batman Begins" with the Joker NOT being introduced early on and being (like in Batman '79) part of their background beforehand.
Could work--- but until the movie comes out, can only say what my gut feeling is now. Right now, I'm not overly enthused about that angle.....

Lest we forget, Annette O'Toole is hotter than any Lois.

True (and sad that they wrote her Lana role was cheap comedy schtick) ... but I still preferred Margot as Lois and Annette as Lana.
Margot's personality seemed like she was very outspoken and put herself 'out there'--- and Margot herself said that she mainly based the character on herself.... which I think is why her Lois works so well in STM.
Similarly, Teri Hatcher has been known to be a bit aggressive in real life, and that also seems to help with her Lois.
Annette- seems a bit too nice to be a Lois Lane imo.....

God, the day the score for this leaks will be an absolutely glorious day. I simply cannot wait to hear what Zimmer has up his sleeve.

I wold have loved for The Rock theme to have been the Superman theme music. And Journey to the Line would have been perfect as part of a Superman film too.

Been listening to Zimmer's Backdraft - Final Theme again and it is just so uplifting - anything like that would be great for Superman!

I think I agree. Plus I want the music to evoke the film, not the other way around. Listening to the STM score is like watching the movie in my head. I would like that experience with MOS (assuming MOS is good and I want it evoked).

I'm not sure you have to wait for a leak--- don't they usually release the soundtrack for sale at least a couple of weeks for big releases before opening day?
But, on the other hand, yeah..... if it's leaked today, I"m just as curious as everyone else.
