I dont think the bright vibrant colours would work in the film. I'm pretty sure that's why they aren't going with them.
With really bright colours you run the risk of it looking campy too.

Apparently featured inside that magazine ". This film reveals that even on Krypton, young Kal-El was a special child, whose birth was cause for alarm on his home planet" Thoughts on this? i heard that he wins a pod race in krypton before getting setnt to earth to fulfil a prophecy to bring balance to the molecular density

I noticed you put on a dip curl, Keith. ;D But honestly, he doesn't need it. I kinda like the fact that he has a receding hairline. He looks very classical and not a modern pretty boy.
My god, 2 months!!! Can't wait for this new trailer.

That pic of him, Lois and Faora...my God. That just IS Superman. It looks so natural. It almost looks real. He looks perfect. agreed... Now im trying to analyze this pic...Faora has her hands on lois and superman just watching with no ergency what so ever to help.. Thinking outside the box here, from whatever point of the film this pic is from, could Faora and Superman be allies?

Possible spoilers below:
So Kal-El is special because of natural conception!
From the EW article:
Last night, a whole slew of new photos for Man of Steel were revealed by Entertainment Weekly. The upcoming Superman reboot is the cover story for their latest issue and they spoke to the cast and crew about the film in their extensive article.
"Imagine what it would be like to be someone like Clark Kent/Kal-El," said star Henry Cavill, "and feel like a stranger amongst even those that you love, never developing full relationships with people for fear of them discovering how much of a freak you are. Even you don't understand exactly what you are. It's just a lonely existence. With someone who has that much power and responsibility. Although he is not susceptible to the frailties of mankind, he is definitely susceptible to the emotional frailties."
The emotional weakness that Cavill brings up is also a point that director Zack Snyder mentioned about the film, in response to "Will we see Kryptonite in the movie?"
"I'll be honest with you," said the director. "There's no Kryptonite in the movie. It's all emotional Kryptonite."
While it sounds like there will be plenty of 'emotional Kryptonite' in the film, the new photos make the film's antagonists (Michael Shannon's General Zod and Antje Traue's Faora) out to be a great physical match for Superman as well.
"He actually has some affection for anybody who's a Kryptonian," Shannon said of his character. "Including Superman. He doesn't really have any malignant feelings toward him; he just wants him to be patriotic." Antje Traue's character on the other hand will be a little less subtle. "Faora is a psychopath. She is an engineered being, and driven by the need and pleasure of killing." This does seem to fit the new interpretation the filmmakers have created for the character's mythology, as David Goyer says most babies on Krypton aren't born, they're engineered. "People were bred to be warriors or scientists or what-have-you, and there's a whole element in the movie about nature versus nurture. Kal-El is unique among Kryptonian babies because he's a natural conception, free from genetic manipulation to choose his own course in life --- which also makes his existence highly illegal." One thing that many fans can't stop wondering about is if this film will lead into the long rumored Justice League movie, and the film's producer seems to indicate it will pave the road for future films. "It's setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward," said producer Chris Roven. "In that, Man of Steel is definitely a first step. Nolan's Dark Knight series was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world the films lived in was very isolated, without any knowledge of other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world." Not an outright indication one way or the other, but screenwriter David Goyer was more open to teasing if we'll see any references to other DC characters in the film. "I would love to tell you yes or no, but I think it's going to be more exciting for people to keep a beady eye out and find what they can find." In the action adventure, starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Laurence Fishburne, Antje Traue, Ayelet Zurer, Christopher Meloni, Russell Crowe, Michael Kelly, Harry Lennix and Richard Schiff, a young boy learns that he has extraordinary powers and is not of this Earth. As a young man, he journeys to discover where he came from and what he was sent here to do. But the hero in him must emerge if he is to save the world from annihilation and become the symbol of hope for all mankind. Man of Steel opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX theaters June 14.

"It's setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward. In that, it's definitely a first step."
"I think you'll see that, going forward, anything can live in this world," he said. "[Nolan's] Batman was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world they lived in was very isolated without any knowledge of any other superheroes. What Zack and Chris have done with this film is allow you to really introduce other characters into the same world."
VERY good.
make each film, in this case MOS, as good as possible, without turning it into an infomercial. start lining up spinoffs.
i'd say again WB/DC could catch up real quick. if goyer basically de-turded the abrams treatment and made it more grown-up (like batman) but still fun and exciting then its a perfect tone. if they hand him george millers JL treatment, and wolfgang petersons "worlds finest" treatment- BOTH are said to be good, but need work- and make the necessary modifications to "fit" in the MOS universe theres 2 more films right there.
----------------------------------------------------------------- Kal-El is unique among Kryptonian babies because he's a natural conception, free from genetic manipulation to choose his own course in life --- which also makes his existence highly illegal."
THIS- this is john byrne's krypton right here. bazinga!

But yeah, he doesn't really need it, but I do miss the curl a bit... sometimes the forehead looks a little bare to me.. like it needs it. I'm ready to see this movie now!

Looked that word up on the net, this is what I got:
Adjective (of a person or manner) Feeling or appearing casually calm and relaxed.
Synonyms indifferent - unconcerned - careless - negligent
Personally, I'm finding myself actually growing from being originally apathetic - as I'd felt the reboot was unnecessary---
to getting nervous and really caring that the film be good, as bits are leaking from this film. The spoiler mentioned (if it's real) about Supes heritage I think is a neat concept grafted on that I like on the surface.
Hope it all plays out....

I wasn't overly fussed about any of it atall. The grainy comic-con footage was where I really got excited about it.

I'm kinda starting to lose my mind over it. Like, I need it to come out tomorrow. The fact that all my casual fan friends are starting to go apeshit over it is not helping. We had a big group seeing Jurassic Park 3D and I don't think most of them had seen the MOS trailer, they were truly blown away.
There's buzz ahappenin', that's for sure. At the bar, I hear people bring it up sometimes. I do my best not to chime in.

that must take more will power than Supes had in SR. Whenever I find someone remotely into Superman I can't help myself, I probably go on about it so much I put them right off.
Only 9 Fridays to go lads

Wow. When you put it like that, that's NOTHING.
God, this is so fucking exciting. A BRAND NEW Superman movie that we basically no nothing about that's starting it ALL OVER. No Donner. No Williams. NOTHING. It's going to be such an interesting experience for us all, I feel. So long as you let it be, anyhow.

That trailer got me in to that soundtrack so much that I've got it on a CD for my car. Listen to it regularly. Whenever Man of Steel comes out on DVD I hope they include that comic-con trailer just for that.
