And a Brit Batman and Spider-Man so I guess WB weren't so worried about the American backlash of their greatest superhero not being played by an American actor after witnessing the success of the other Brit heroes.
Ps, is the new trailer showing before Iron Man 3?

Ps, is the new trailer showing before Iron Man 3? That's what I've heard. If it's not playing before IM3 WB should be destroyed!

A video came out a few months ago and I think that's where the image came from.. it was fan made.. it was damn good looking too. Here's the animated gif of it. Edit: Upon looking at it.. the image colors looks little bit different.. could have been touched up in photoshop.. but it could be legit.. I don't know now lol.

Hey all, haven't posted in a while here but I've been reading constantly.... The newest trailer: Wow...I mean it's weird because this is showing us so much action I'm a bit confused. For a reboot that will show origins, it doesn't seem like it's missing action at all. One thing I'm really..."missing" from all of the trailers really...The "Metropolis" Clark is barely shown at all....interesting. I mean yes, it's a different era altogether but I don't recall STMs second trailer showing much of Superman, more of Clark to keep the reveal that much better. Not saying anything is wrong with it, just an observation. The music: I keep a lot of symphonic movie score music in my mp3 library from the greats: Williams, Zimmer, Newton-Howard, etc etc and I've got quite a few of Zimmers' scores. I never liked the Batman tracks he laid down at all. Too....generic. I still think of the Elfman Batman theme as the best of all 3 Batman movie themes to date. That having been said, if it's true that the music on Trailer #3 is from the movie....(stands up....clapping). That music is strong...powerful with some fast beats to it....it may not "say" Superman, but it speaks of the character in volumes in my opinion. (which probably isn't worth two cents but..eh LOL) The Costume: Yes....it's dark. Whatever. Tell me one person in here that wouldn't say anything weird or mean about ANYONE wearing bright colored clothing or if he belongs on the short yellow bus nowadays. In comics, brighter colors are to attract a reader but they don't always translate well to real life, hence why the X-men movie costumes were the way they were. The First Class costumes....eh not bad but I can't imagine staring at that for 90 minutes without my eyes bleeding (and no I'm not referring to the storyline....that would be a separate argument). The Wal-mart promotion: While I love seeing Superman getting the attention back now with Batman movies gone for the time being....the "special premiere" is only at most 5 hours early than the midnight showings and....truth be told...I did some merchandising for Wal-Marts up until 3 months ago. Not sure I want to be in the same theater with most of the people that frequent the ones I worked at so I'll take a pass

Audiences don't want to see Clark. Audiences want to see Superman.

Big day today. Huge important day. Listening to the music from the trailer all morning to get me through. As kev said- best to you. If I recall- we only get the soundtrack for ...3 days? Before the premiere. Its interesting- the score cd is a couple days ahead, the paperback novelisation and coffee table book the day of. Boom!

I have an odd feeling that they may go the "Smallville" route and not have the 'Clark' double identity in this film at all.... but possibly be created (if at all) in a sequel. Or.... Even more radically, what if they decide not to have a glasses Clark Kent identity for this version AT ALL? Smallville veered away from the comics quite a bit..... would the movies want to veer even further away?

I'm up for ANYTHING happening, really, at this point. Screw it. It's all new. Change shit up. We don't need to see things we've seen done time and time again over the past 75 years.

So am I honestly. We're not tied to any previously known Donnerverse universes, so I'm cool with some change. Plus, it will make it exciting and not predictable.

Track 17 sounds interesting. It could be the last scenes of the movie.

I'm guessing that will be a direct quote from the film.
Looking back soundtracks are usually not in order of the film. So I wouldn't read too much into the structure from that.

You're right, but I'm familiar with the Hans Zimmer track structure and he always has the last scene of the movie as his last track.
And this thread has hit 9,000 posts. Holy shit.

If the structure of the film follows the order of the soundtrack listing, then they've definitely gone the way of Batman Begins with various flashbacks to Krypton and his childhood in Smallville in between the present day Clark / Superman scenes.
Looks like we don't get the flashback to Krypton till Chapter 5!
And I'm excited about the oil rig scene in Chapter 2! That must be the shot of him in the fire!

Chapter 2 and Chapter 5?
I'd be very surprised if that's all in order.
But like eccentric said, the last couple of tracks are almost certainly the last musical parts of the film. I mean the question of 'what will you do when you're not saving the world' sounds like it would be a question at the end of it all before he goes and joins the DP.

Look at that...I was right AGAIN.
Man of Steel WILL NOT OPEN ON KRYPTON.
And, speaking of being right, Zimmer did the job for me today. I passed.

And, don't worry, Clark WILL put the glasses on, just not til the end of the movie. It'll be done in such a way and at such a time that the audience will WANT it and they will CHEER for it.

congrats VAL! and, heres this: April 25, 2013: Superman Must Be Taken Seriously Says Zack Snyder The LA Times has published an article about "Man of Steel", in which they talk to director Zack Snyder, and Producers Debbie Snyder and Charles Roven, to get their feelings and thoughts on the movie and on Superman as a character. Here are a few excerpts from the article... "It's the most realistic movie I've made," Snyder said. "There's no tongue in anyone's cheek. I'm not apologizing for Superman in any way. I'm saying, 'Superman is a thing that must be taken seriously and embraced and understood.'" "We had the canon that we needed to pay homage to," Roven said. "We need to make sure that Superman comes from Krypton. We weren't going to change that - those kinds of touchstones. But everything else between those touchstones was fair game."
"He's not super-perfect, and he might not always make the right decision, especially as he's growing up and trying to find himself," said producer (and Snyder's wife) Debbie Snyder. "I think he's struggling to find out what is the right thing to do." "We tried not to make him so predictably morally black and white," Zack Snyder added. "We gave him some shades of gray. His inherent goodness is still there, and if you really think about it, you still want him to be right and to make the right choices and to do the right thing. I think that we all hope for that in ourselves, and I think that's what always has made him a very interesting character. He's a Christlike figure. There's no two ways about it."
