;D
If that's the 'big twist' at the end of MOS, I can see many people hurling their cellphones at the screen by the time the credits come up....

I am really unimpressed by the action scenes in this trailer. It looks like any other generic superhero/alien invasion/Terminator movie, and the CGI and flying effects look very fake. Just as fake as SR flying scenes sadly. I have a horrible fear that the movie will be fantastic during the Krypton and Smallville parts, but will turn to crap after he becomes Superman. Did I imagine it, or was Superman sinking into a pile of skulls? WTF?

Either way WTF has been your reaction to pretty much anything that has cropped up that hasn't been in the Reeve films ;D
Action looks great, as good as I could have hoped for. I obviously haven't seen the full sequences but I'm struggling to think of any big action pieces that have looked better.

Regarding the trailer, what, you think WB only wanted people like US to see it? C'mon! Look at the Fast and Furious.
The sixth part is coming out.
SIXTH.
And the seven will be on the way soon!
They want that dudebro crowd. Why the heck wouldn't they? They'd be stupid not to!
$$$$$$$$$

Wow, that trailer is very "dudebro" to me. Some of the effects shots are really "ZACK SNYDER!" (I.e., they look really bad. Some of the super-running looks like Jeff East running in S:TM) which has now raised the concern meter from 0 to 10%, unfortunately. I'll never understand why people think Jeff East running in-camera looked bad. Until others pointed out that something was "off", I always thought it was an interesting visual. The second full-body shot of him running works pretty well because he leans forward and lowers his center of gravity -- but then he reverts to running "straight up" in the third take. But even as I'm more self-conscious about it, at worst it just looks weird. I'll take that over looking "fake". UF might be referring to the one "blue screen" take - which does look somewhat similar to what we see in the trailer.

Yeah - even I called that one the second I saw it. Game of Thrones and the annoying 3-eyed raven have my dream sequence detectors finely tuned.

Precisely, however, if this movie is deeper than what dudebros are used to and they end up digging it, who knows, it could...I dunno. I dunno where I was going with this.

I'm with UF on this. That trailer was the worst out of all of them, and for the first time, I am also concerned about the movie. And who was the retard who decided to waste 23 seconds of a 1:47 trailer on TV static? ;D ba-loney. you have only in very recent memory even BEGUN to consider liking this film, and have spared no opportunity to express skepticism/doubt. first time youre worried? not even close to credible. ----------------------------------------- ECCENTRICBEING is EXACTLY right. the thing about the marketing that impresses me is that they have realised TWO things- 1) win the "base". 2) put a lot of butts in seats. see, the teaser seemed underwhelming to us- maybe a lot of people, especially if you saw the comic con footage- but it makes sense now. they did NOT use williams score, you saw a ruggedly handsome fellow on some sort of journey, and only in the last seconds do you even know its superman. totally "outside the box" (pardon the cliche') trailer 2 and 3 were for the BASE. red meat for the fanboys. it told us that it would recall fondly familiar things like donner verse or certain graphic novels, but would not RELY on them. it showed us we would see a live action superman DO things we always wanted to see but never have. it also told the general audience that this is not a dull, underwhelming superman. that it would have the scale and action of popular blockbusters. with the virals, tv spots and the "ZOD" trailer tey are going for the center. going for the casual movie goer who just wants to have a good time. i dont think i even have to tell anyone here that the reason AVENGERS made a billion dollars was because it found a way to reach people OUTSIDE of nerdville. look at us. we go on message boards and have passionate discussion about cartoons. there simply arent enough of us to make ANY movie a billion dollars. in the last five years FOUR comic book movies have made a BILLION inside of a year. most of us recall when CBMs were expected to be awful. the whole paradigm is different. i gaurandamntee you that 95% of the people who saw avengers: a) NEVER read an avengers comic book. EVER. b) think that iron man was invented by RDJR in 2008 c) think that people who go on the internet boards to talk about comics are pathetic. when did this trailer premiere? "hangover 3" ? you think THAT crowd gives half a shit how close it follows "birthright" or who scored it? no, with WB making the faux-S.E.T.I. site and unlocking staticy messages and revealing krypton writing, and putting that in tv spots is telling people that it is NOT a superman film theyve already seen. a very heavy burden considering it has been perceived a remake of STTM and SII. so, people in the theater- seeing hangover 3- theres this weird trailer ( these folks did NOT go online to help crack the code) they see this weird thin and its getting very "the day the earth stood still" and BAM! superman is kicking ass and being ass kicked. hooked. mission accomplished. as i said earlier today- the concern is the human(or kryptonian) drama- NOT the spectacle. sheesh. pick your battles.

Agreed. Before I was mainly worried with Snyder (given his track record with the dramatic scenes in most of his films, despite good intentions) as being unable to make them believable--- But- with what I felt was an almost complete disaster with TDKR, having Nolan's name on it didn't make this an invulnerable movie. We know now that there are fantastic moments- and a couple of moving moments from both Crowe and Costner.... the possibility of a movie that's fantastic from beginning to end (despite unfortunate unnecessary changes- Jenny Olsen? ? Uggg) quality wise feels like it could be there. At the worst, we know the action will be spectacular and that Snyder has delivered on 'money shots' that linger. Spectaclewise it's done deal, I think. If the Crowe/Costner scenes are as good as the trailer suggests, oddly I now just hope there's ENOUGH of those scenes before they move on. (Based on what we got to this point- really does look like a flashback structure- Clark walks and a bus passes by- which reminds him of the bus save - perhaps it will be very similar to how BB compressed the origin as was speculated here before...)

"I have journeyed across an ocean of stars to reach you..."
Sounds like something Anakin would say in the prequels.

Why is Faora speaking like a Russian? And she sounds like reciting her lines rather than really being the character
