Why does the subtitle have to relate to Batman at all? Why not pick a title that reflects the story or the theme of the story they're trying to tell? I'll tell you why the subtitle needs a reference to Batman: because WB assumes we're all dumb fucks and they're saying, "In case you didn't pay any attention during the two years of pre-production, our next film has a new Batman. Just wanted to make sure you didn't miss out on that factoid."

Yeah, everybody knows there's a new Batman.

You're right. As far as mainstream marketing and recognition goes it's the obvious way to go. A lot of fans don't like it (I don't really) but it would immediately tell the general audience what they need to know and what the movie is and is about. That's who WB wants. That's why I'm surprised they haven't immediately gone that way.

If the rumors are true that there's going to be a costume update ... uh, what is there to change? I think the colors come off as dark as they do in this photo because he's back-lighted, and I think they're a bit dark in the movie in a lot of scenes. But that's more of a lens filter and "artistic" choice. Some of the costume photos from the national costume tour make it seem like the costume is nice and bright if well lighted.

What to change? Adding trunks? I think now that they're gone, they can stay gone. I don't mind either way, but adding them after having the first film explain the bodysuit concept ... it's just weird. Why would he add trunks?

Shorter cape? A bit. I don't think it should drag on the ground as much as it does.

Changes to the rib cage lines and gauntlet cuffs? That's my best guess.

I don't see them changing the look of the shield. They've made it into too big of a deal as a symbol of his family and a symbol of hope.

If anything, I think they should do what Nolan did between the middle and final Batflick: leave it alone.

Check out my MOS review right after I saw it.

It's amazing what a few months of bickering and going on a crusade defending the anti-MOS opinion can distort your own personal memories.

There were times throughout the film where I thought it was a fuckig AWESOME movie, but by the end, I thought, "Hmm, it was good." Not great, just plain, sold "good".

Russell Crowe and Kevin Costner were both fantastic.

Michael Shannon was great. The writers humanized Zod, and Shannon did great.

I was unimpressed with Amy Adams. I don't feel they showed enough of her to shine her acting ability, meaning she was just an average looking chick. Margot Kidder wasn't the hottest chick, but her acting and chemistry with Reeve superseded all that. Not so with Adams.

Henry Cavill: BEST Superman since Reeve. Really, really good. I hope he becomes a movie star outside of Superman. Loved his performance. Blows away Routh's version.

Didnt like Superman snapping Zod's neck. I can not put my finger on why, but I didn't like it. I think it's because it didnt seem to have the weight it should have, but again, I'm not 100% sure on why my gut reaction was that I didn't like it. I think it's because Superman isn't a killer and they didn't do a good enough job building up that to make it impactful.

Music: I can't remember a SINGLE piece of music. In all fairness, his music for BB grew on me with repeat viewings so I'm going to be openminded at this point and assume it was good?

I can understand the criticisms on the lack of character development. Action scenes were good and it's EXACTLY what Superman Retunrs needed.

I realize that I can never EVER compare a new Superman movie to the Reeve films. Too legendary. Shogun can travel with Superman III the Donner version from a different dimension and it would probably still be disappointing.

All in all: good movie.
