I want to watch those too.. You will believe was good.. and captioned. But all the other docus and features are not subtitled or captioned. It makes me SO Furious!! Spend 100 bucks on it and I can't watch any of the shit cause it's not subtitled. I emailed WHV but never got any replies back. grrrrr. Edit: I just emailed them again. Keith that sucks dude!! I feel like making subtitles just help you out!
I wonder if that's possible, hmm. That'd be really nice. Sorry about that, Keith.

SGB I think it was told me that Region 4 of the box set, everything on it is subtitled. Now why can they do it for one region but not the other??
I got a reply back this time, this is what they said:
Evil Supes that'd be cool. There are programs out there to create subtitles on DVD when you create a DVD. But it looks very hard and very time consuming. I'd just as soon buy the region 4 box set lol.

I don't mind.
Sorry if you know about some of this stuff.. thought i'd be detailed with it.
Basically I was born with it.. but it didn't affect me till i was 3yrs old. I have cochlear damage. The little hair like things (which the sounds passes through causing them to vibrate or whatnot sending the signal to the brain) on the cochlea which is shaped like a snail.. a lot of those hairs fell off, which makes it harder for me to hear.

I see. And it's getting worse, huh? Sorry to hear that. I definitely understand your frustration with the lack of closed captioning.

It has its moments.. the last couple years there's been times where my hearing would drop for no reason and the doc would put me on some steroids and it would come back.. i dont know what the cause of it is. I might have to have a MRI done around my ear to see whats going on.

Okay.... whether or not the Snyder film makes you happy or worried... HOPEFULLY WB will market a new tin collector's set with new material for/around when it comes out. I hope the news that the first collection sold like hotcakes was true, and enough to inspire WB to do another one. If so--- what would YOU want to have in it personally for a 12 disc set? Here's my stab at it: TITLE: THE SUPERMAN GOLD COLLECTION: THE ULTIMATE EDITIONS "The Versions That Have Never Been Officially Released" Specs: Disc One: Superman the Movie: International Release Cut Dedication to Tom Mankiewicz- Commentary by Donner Commentary by Ilya Salkind and Spengler Deleted scenes/ Hi-Resolution Archives of Photos purchased from/leased from Caped Wonder Disc Two: Superman II: International Release Cut Commentary by Donner and Thau Commentary by Ilya Salkind and Spengler Deleted scenes Hi-Resolution Archives of Photos purchased from/leased from Caped Wonder Disc Three: Superman II: Selutron Extended Cut New score by one of John Williams' recommendations, if Williams' fee is too much- Selutron Cut- but with unchanged but restored deleted scenes & with access to the real stuff. Commentary by cast members: Kidder, McClure, Stamp, Douglas, and O'Halloran Commentary by Fortress of Solitude forum members Disc Four: Superman III: International Release Cut Commentary by Annette O'Toole and Margot Kidder Disc Five: Superman IV: Restored Complete Cut Restore the deleted scenes & complete the incomplete fx & also (of course) the highly demanded nightclub scene & other scenes mentioned by Mark Rosenthal. Commentary by actor Mark Pillow, Margot Kidder, Marc McClure Disc Six: SUPERMAN RETURNS- Extended Cut Restored Superman Returns with the long-awaited 'Return to Krypton' sequence & deleted scenes restored. Commentary by Singer & Screenwriters: focus on: what was GOING to be done with the sequel to wrap the loose ends up!!!! Disc Seven: New Documentary: Superman II DONNER extras Bonus disc includes ALL the extra deleted scenes/alternate takes not previously included - Unedited Brando footage AND.... *Storyboards/script from (1)the abandoned Metropolis Battle under Donner (2)Zod's speech from atop the Washington Monument/Villains rule the world (3)Superman & Lois 'Home Movies' section of Superman II (4)The Villains attack on the Sheriffs when they land- greatly different than Lester's TABLE READS by the Villains for the Washington Monument sequence/(assuming any video was taken for any of the rehearsals) Disc Eight: Lois and Clark pilot: Widescreen Apparently this was shot in widescreen, but never released as such. Not really a feature, but it's still something new & trying to think of other things on the wishlist. Disc Nine: Documentary: Superman V that never was- New documentary with storyboards/art designs/scripts for the abandoned Superman V---- including the stages (in more detail) of the failed attempts- Interviews with Burton and Peter Guber and Kevin Smith- plus their views now, looking back. Also any material from the other versions that were pre-Singer: AJ Abrams art/costume designs under McG/etc. Disc Ten: Documentary on the new Nolan/Snyder/Routh (hopefully) production & discussion on why SR's sequel didn't happen - the official word, not the fan speculations once and for all. Disc Eleven: The New Nolan/Snyder/Routh movie- theatrical Disc Twelve: The New Nolan/Snyder/Routh movie- extended & deleted scenes Ok, that's my wish list. Not holding my breath, but at least it's all mostly new stuff that would be WORTH shecking out $50-$100 for, I would think, for the fan who already got the first collection. What's YOUR wish list like for a new tin 12-disc set?

Disk 1: Documentary of how WB sold the rights to Superman elsewhere which initiates a Bond like series
Disk 2(a, b, c): Star Wars OT original versions that Lucas doesn't want people to see any more. Why not?
Disk 3: "Don't do drugs": Documentary on the life of Jon Peters, shaming his antics. Look out for bonus Easter Egg on Singer/Crystal meth (if those rumours were true)
Disk 4: Guide to editing films by Mike Thau. Great to watch for a laugh. Comparison clips taken from the net: how 'bedroom' editors do a much better job than a paid professional. Thau's justification for the Ma kent breakfast scene a must!

Other than that, everything we got in the box set was good enough.

CAM, your box set idea is perfect. After disc 3 i figured "There's no way it could get any better than that". Then I see your disc 4. Proved me wrong. Disc 5, proved me wrong again. And so on and so forth. $50-$100? I'd sheck out 2 hundred for that.

DISK 13:
Scene 394 - 431, "Kryptonian conquest"
394 EXT. WASHINGTON MONUMENT - DAY
The cruel face of ZOD fills the screen. His voice booms out with a deep, penetrating quality.
ZOD I am General Zod! Listen to me, people of the Earth!
CAMERA PULLS BACK: ZOD is perched on top of the Washington Monument in Washington, D.C. He stands erect on the pointed apex of the tall, needle-like edifice, his voice echoing across the landscape as terrified TOURISTS below scream, run away in panic.
ZOD Today I bring a New Order to your planet! One which shall last until the end of time! Each of you...
395 INT./EXT. LINCOLN MEMORIAL - DAY
PEOPLE stand petrified inside and out of the Lincoln Memorial and reflecting pool beyond as ZOD continues.
ZOD'S VOICE ... each man, each woman, each child - all will march proudly together in this New Order!
396 EXT. JEFFERSON MEMORIAL - DAY
CAMERA LOOKS THROUGH the Jefferson Memorial, across the Potomac River.
ZOD'S VOICE Your lands, your homes, your possessions, your very lives...
397 EXT. WASHINGTON MONUMENT - ANGLE LOOKING DOWN
CAMERA LOOKS DOWN PAST ZOD. Police cars with flashing lights begin to converge in the distance.
ZOD All of this and more you will gladly give to me!
398 EXT. KREMLIN - RUSSIA - DAY
An aerial view of the Kremlin in flames, the fire spreading throughout Moscow.
ZOD'S VOICE There is no longer a need for separate nations in this world, no need for petty squabbles between one group and another...
399 EXT. TOKYO - DAY
TOKYO is in flames. Thousands of JAPANESE flee through the streets.
ZOD'S VOICE All of you will work together, strive, produce, and sacrifice together - and all for a common goal!
400 EXT. PARIS - EIFFEL TOWER - DAY
The Eiffel Tower in Paris is suddenly bathed in a strange LIGHT.
ZOD'S VOICE It is useless for you to resist as it is for me to annihilate you...
401 EXT. PARIS SKY - ANGLE ON NON
NON focuses his X-RAY vision on the Eiffel Tower.
ZOD'S VOICE You will only bring death and destruction upon yourselves...
402 EXT. EIFFEL TOWER
The Eiffel Tower melts under the heat, sags, then collapses like a tin toy.
ZOD'S VOICE ... while I will lose the potential products of your labor...
403 EXT. MT. RUSHMORE - SOUTH DAKOTA - DAY
URSA stands in front of Mount Rushmore, turns on her X-Ray vision: The famous faces of the Presidents are obliterated, then replaced by those of ZOD, URSA, and NON as she burns them in with her eyes.
ZOD'S VOICE There is now one law, one order, one ruler who alone will determine your collective destiny! One force before will all of you shall kneel forever!
404 EXT. WASHINGTON MONUMENT - DAY
ZOD continues to rant on top of the monument.
ZOD In return for this submission you will have my generous protection! In other words - you will be allowed to live.
405 ANGLE ON BASE OF MONUMENT
A police car has pulled has pulled up at the base of the Monument. Flak-jacketed OFFICERS pile out, their CAPTAIN holding a bullhorn.
CAPTAIN (to ZOD - through bullhorn) You are trespassing on Federal Government property - illegally occupying a national monument...
406 BACK TO ZOD
ZOD'S eyes flash with anger as he looks down.
ZOD I will not repeat myself again! There is no nation! Therefore there cannot be a monument to one...!
407 WIDER ANGLE
ZOD jumps off, smashes into the monument lower down: It crumbles into pieces, the cascading shower of stone burying the police cars and OFFICERS below.
408 CLOSE ON ZOD IN MID-AIR
ZOD From this day forward - there is only Zod!
409-431 SCENES OMITTED

Agreed. That's why I said/wrote that if this scene wasn't shot (probably not)_ then: #1: Storyboards #2: Table read by Stamp
*sigh*
At the very least, there's a LOT of stuff that WB can deliver 'fresh' to us that shouldn't cost a lot to put together. Some of these might cost more than others, but in many cases, just restoring the deleted scenes or sharing the IRCs I'd be very happy with!
Hopefully the world survives long enough for another big box set...

Nice call to include the Supergirl International Version- Actually would be nice to have a solo commentary by Helen Slater, given this was her key role. She seemed very comfortable sharing & actually wouldn't have minded more of her thoughts.
Also-nice point on the JOhn WIlliams commentary. I thought for awhile there WAS going to be a separate Williams commentary for the boxset, but maybe that was confused with separate WIlliams music only track for the 2006 STM dvd.
As an afterthought: Would be fun to have a dvd roundtable of all the living actors who've played Superman/Superboy/Colored Blurs to share their experiences and thoughts on their time wearing the suit.
Love your idea of having the alternate flying takes--- from Supes and the Villains. THere's GOT to be a lot of those around!
