Yes, thank you UF!
I read All-Star #1 when it came out as well and was not impressed. Didn't read any more issues, but after hearing such high praise about it over the years I checked out the animated movie that came out recently...and it did not change my opinon one bit. The most overrated Superman story of all time, IMO.

Love "For All Seasons," though. That might be my favorite. And as weird as it is, really like "Secret Identity."

It's probably the best Superman story I've ever read. But it IS weird.

I'd love to see a movie version of Secret Identity. It was awesome. I loved the artwork, too. I really dig Immonen's work.
I'm reading the collected Rocketeer by Dave Stevens. It's BEAUTIFUL. I had seen scans of the single issues last year and they looked okay, but boy, they really touched it up hardcore. Very fun stuff, too.

That Rocketeer book is incredible. That's about as good a volume of comics as you can get, right there.

I read "Green Arrow: Year One" yesterday. It came to my attention through my newfound fandom of the CW's "Arrow." It's a solid story that in addition to covering the origin of the Green Arrow, tackles serious issues like narcotics and slave labor. Much like "Batman: Year One," there are no supervillains to fight here, and the story stays very grounded throughout. I'd recommend it if you had an interest in the character and were looking for an entry point.
I'm excited that the wrtier, Andy Diggle, will be taking over Action Comics upon Morrison's departure. Based of his work here I can at least say he should restore some respectibility to that currently outlandish and nonsensical title.

Thanks for the recommendation! Diggle's a decent writer, although I'm not sure he's suited to Superman. Should be interesting, though. I'll definitely check out GA:Y1.

Punisher: Circle of Blood
I recently got into randoming, which is what I call randomly picking out cheap comics of characters I had interest in and see what happens, what sticks.
Turns out I REALLY fucking love Punisher. I read a few issues when I was a kid, that I've recently repurchased, and also read all the Ennis stuff in college, but never the older stuff. In the randoms, I did get some older stuff and just fell in love with the character. In the first series, for crying out loud, Jim Lee, Whilce Portacio AND Erik Larsen all do art for it within the first 20 issues. It's nuts!
Anyhow, Val told me about this Circle of Blood miniseries which was the first time Frank Castle was in his own comic. It was FANTASTIC. Art by Mike Zeck, who is quickly becoming one of my favorite artists, the story is dark, it's violent but not ridiculously so. It's very well done. Highly recommended.

Of my favorite top 10 comic covers of all time, I bet 1/2 of them are from Mike Zeck.
