Was SR a mega hit, creating sequels or did I miss something? no, but neither were some of the films you mentioned. The only big/huge superhero hits in recent years have been Spiderman, TDK and Iron Man. The rest have been modest hits or less. Also, did you delete a post? I remember seeing another post from you on this page where you mentioned modest hits..

Thats a great point about the SIV deleted scenes, SGB. Big difference between getting them to release something, and getting them to do it again, and with more effort. It's like Lucas with the 2006 original version DVDs. He cut corners big-time, but now considers them 'released', and getting him to do it yet again, but this time PROPERLY, will be next to impossible. Oy...you act like I'm disagreeing with you. I'm not. In fact I think you're probably right. My point is you're speaking in absolutes when I'm saying never say never. Improbable and impossible aren't the same thing. I'd tell people not to get their hopes up. I doubt what we're all talking about will happen but to say NEVER EVER is pretty definitive.

Yes,the only ''big/huge superhero hits in recent years have been Spiderman,TDK and Iron Man. The rest have been modest hits or less''. SR belongs in the latter category-that's all I meant,my friend. It was you Sg that mentioned ''modest hits'', not me. I cant believe Thau opted to include the cereal product placement,Hollywood falling down while leaving out the Father-son lore in the FOS and extra flying shots after rescuing Lois. I don't get it.

I cant believe Thau opted to include the cereal product placement,Hollywood falling down while leaving out the Father-son lore in the FOS and extra flying shots after rescuing Lois. I don't get it. I get it just fine. WB hired a sound editor to do not just sound editing, but also video editing, writing, and in a way, directing. Failed on all 4 counts. Worse part is, I'm beginning to see the Donner Cut on tv now. When people see this "movie" they're all gonna unanimously agree that the theatrical is better. And they're right. Because for all it's flaws, S2 may have also been a rushed production, but the end result was a MOVIE. It was NOT 2 different films with 2 different tones from 2 different directors. As much as I hate to admit it, any chance of S2 being revisited is lost.

And if SR was a failure at the BO, so it was Batman Begins, several of the X-Mens, Capt. America, etc; The only difference was the budget. SR's budget was higher so WB expected more from it. Any way, only WB cares about budgets, because general audiences definitely don't. And I"m done talking about this. You are welcome to think anything you want.

Well--- that's the thing. If we're JUST talking about: #1: Going to the master tape (or whatever format exists that they used the old broadcasts for) - not putting in ANY extra effort that they don't already do for the OTHER WB Archives (ie. Challenge of the Superheroes)--- and putting it into some template for easy dvd production- can't be that expensive, given how much is already 'setup' on their end.... #2:Also, they'd ONLY be making enough for demand- so, where's the giant effort and cost if they just did a transfer & sold it on the net? Although I'd love a letterbox version- if they JUST did this- how much effort are we really talking about? WB also doesn't seem to care THAT much about Donner's feelings- otherwise they would pay him SOMETHING for his contribution to the Donner cut, even if (as was stated, the checks for the project were already cut). Low cost, low effort, low risk (only making enough for demand can't cost that much). I wish it weren't pan and scan, but if that's the only option, I'll take it. Why would this be such a difficult request, given what other obscure titles they put out? In terms of making it easy for Warner Archives, what more could anyone ask?

I know all you guys remember the endless debate that raged for YEARS over that footage. Certain people swore up and down that the footage was probably destroyed and that we'd ever EVER see it. I can't be the only one that remembers those words. I remember Ahem being one of those that swore the footage was destroyed. Does anyone know/recall what Ahem's reaction was when the footage was released?

I also remember that Guru Ahem's reaction would probably be "I still haven't seen Superman Returns", right Olly?

I remember Fabio being a dick years ago and telling me I was wrong that there was no way another Highlander movie would be released after Endgame bombed. Another movie was released. ;D I guess Fabio must be bitter now cause I'm sure he eats a lot of crow.
