Again, post your question in the politics thread and I'll rebuttal whenever time allows. This is not a political thread, Adam. It's a thread dedicated to bringing Routh back. Oh, one more thing, I'm currently at work; just because I'm logged in doesn't mean I online.

The older Routh gets the better he's going to look as Superman. Wb will be shooting themselves in the head if they let him go. Then again they did make Catwoman.

I've said it all along, the costume, hair and make-up in SR did Routh a great disservice. They got someone who was a great fit for Superman and somehow found a way to make him look less like the character in the movie than he does is real life.

i think he needed the hair and the makeup because he needed to be neatened up some and the blue contacts were a must. The make up because he's got an insane 5 o'clock shadow. he looked too...i dunno. I think the biggest disservice to him was sometimes the hair, the lighting, the filters, and parts of the costume.
I think the Clark Kent hairstyle was more spot on than the Superman hairstyle. Then again Reeves hair never exactly matched the Superman hair. Superman was always pretty clean cut but Reeve's hair was ridiculously poofy in some parts of STM and SII as well as to long. In 3 and 4 it was the right length but it was too light in 3 and in 4 some people complained about the curl (even though thats exactly how John Byrne drew it at the time).

I know, Legsy. his wig in in 3 and 4 weren't perfect but I think overall in terms of style and shape they were the best Reeves hair looked when compared too the way it was drawn. not to long and not to poofy/dated. I think the best his hair looked period was in parts of STM and even then the curl was ridiculously overpronounced. like he took the time to gel it mid change instead of it being more natural. As a matter of fact almost nobody thats played Superman has really always had the hair right. Alyn maybe. The Clark style looked good and the curl looked somewhat natural. it wasn't too long or to poofy. Reeves had no curl and Cain...i dunno what they were thinking. Actually I do but...it was bass ackwards.

You're spot on about Cain. They should have switched his Clark and Superman hairstyles. It would have gone a long way in making his Superman look more...Supermanly, one of L&C's bigger issues.

Sure, the film was too dark visually in some parts, which made the dark red on his suit look brown in some scenes. I hated that. Still, Brandon's charm;, talent and presence in the role worked for me. I had Superman in SR. No doubt. I mean, he looks pretty much like Superman here, imo,

Cool manip of Supes, Keith. Manip Original pic Personally, I love the original pic, but I prefer the red and the more open neckline in the manip. The 3D S shield is too big, imo.

Thanks Shane and Stargazer I love doing manips.. haven't done much as of late though. But back when we were all discussing the costume and what could be changed, stuff like that I did a couple. I'm going to start a Manip Thread for Superman Manips, and I'll post my stuff that i've done.

Reboot's winning.
I dunno, what do you think most normal folk out there in the world think? The kind of people who DON'T talk about anything on the internet? Think they'd care if it was a reboot or a sequel to Returns?
Hurm. Who knows.

Not a whole lot of my friends were interested in SR when it came out. The general public probably doesn't care either way.

That's a sweet drawing! There's proof right there that Superman in the comics don't need to look like Mr.Universe to be someone that looks powerful and menacing when needed.
