Fascinating to see such diverse opinions here. People abhorring movies others completely adore.

Very true- Just going by who loves/hates the Batman and Superman films, there seems to be very little agreement for ALL of them....which, actually, is kind of cool. I think it reinforces the idea that nobody here is blindly going along with any crowd's opinion for any film....

Just saw TDKR again.
What an awesome movie.
I liked it as much as TDK when I first saw it. A few things bugged me originally, such as Bane's death and the twist, but those flaws weren't anywhere near as bad as I remembered.
Too bad Bale won't reprise the role in MOS2. I have a feeling Affleck may surprise people, but Bale is the Sean Connery AND Daniel Craig of Batman. WAY better than anyone who came before him.

West is is kind of the Moore when you think about how different their takes were even though the order doesn't match. Kilmer was definitely the Brosnan of the series. GE and BF were relaunches of both series in 1995.
And the first Batman is Michael G Wilson's dad.

On second viewings, the problems I had with the movie got worse, for me. I think that they had a lot of great ideas (much like Spiderman 3 did), but the degree of realism that I thought they achieved in TDK, I feel like they undid with many of the choices for TDKR. There are some great moments to be had still- but out of all the Batman films, it's slightly better than Batman and Robin to me.
Having said that, I also was bummed that they didn't convince Bale to make MOS 2 Batman Begins 4 (in a way).... I'm shocked that WB didn't make Bale an offer he couldn't refuse.
