Reeve is the guy to top whenever comparisons come up. I've seen it even outside this board. How good was Reeve? Well even when actors are cast as superheroes that aren't Superman they are often compared to or ranked alongside...Christopher Reeve. Even Bales Batman has been held up to Reeve's Superman for comparison and its not even the same character. Reeve is one of those benchmarks in the superhero movie subgenre.

Bud White is easily my fave Crowe character. What makes you say that? Guess I'd have to base it off past picks for the role. Before "Remington Steele" Brosnan wasn't that widely known as a wild pick like Mel Gibson. Dalton didn't seem widely known outside of the theatre. I didn't know who the heck Craig was before Bond. Other than history, I have no clue what the thought process is for casting a role in which a star shouldn't outshine the character. It's a different kind of franchise. No one else will play Indiana Jones because the character came after Ford's fame. Anyone can play Bond because it's a franchise based on character not star. I hope I'm making sense. |

Although Reeve barely had success outside of Superman, he really didn't need to since he DEFINES Superman for millions of people. Everyone else is just the guy taking over the mantle. Nobody has been able to definitively make that role their own the way Reeve did. No-ones definitively played any of those roles on the big screen aside from Reeve and RDJ. |

Reeve's winning of which you'll be glad, but you'll be surprised that it's not a land slide, and you'll be necking the strawberry daiquiri's when you see how many people don't rate his bumbling take on Clark.

Only hardcore nerds saw that sorry excuse for a Superman movie. Call me when they have the balls to make a TRUE Superman movie. That's when I'll compare and debate. Up until now, DC and Warner are too self-conscious to portray Superman as he is. I could give a fuck about Donnie Darko in a Superman costume.

You should care, that's the new generation in there too. Not just the one's who are hung up on a dated version of the character that would probably be laughed off the screen now days, they're the ones who paid to see it so much so that it broke a June record. You'll be downing the cosmopolitans if a sequel is green lit won't you? ps. Golden Gun is a shite excuse for a bond film. |

STM may be dated, but Reeve's portrayal of Superman isn't. Which is why both recent Superman films have disappointed at the boxoffice and have sold less tickets than the original film.
As for Golden Gun, you don't know what the FUCK you're talking about: I rated Golden Gun in the bottom 2 Bond films EVER, stupid. But you wouldn't know that cuz you got your up Cavill's ASS. I only rate Christopher Lee as Scaramanga.
