What about those dudes from "supernatural" ? Geeks like them I guess. I love that show, but no. They're TV actors. Both of them are already typecast in horror because of their awful choices to do horror movies (Ackles was in the "My Bloody Valentine" remake while Padalecki was in the "Friday the 13th" remake). They're both phsyically fit enough, I guess, but Ackles is short. Padalecki comes off as too soft. If WB goes that route, might as well replace Cavill with Tom Fucking Welling and do a "Smallville" movie. I hear no one clamoring for that. Besides, the CW prez loves the show and has locked it in for two more seasons. Wants it to go through 10 like "Smallville" did.

It's the CW. Their "top" show can easily go ten years. On a real network even if the shows were amazing they'd never even come close to that. Nikita's ratings are in the toilet and while on another network it'd be canned CW will still try to squeeze one last mini season out if it. Standards aren't exactly high over there as long as they hit a certain demo.
As for the Supernatural boys as batman? Nah...they're ok guys and are the right age but this is way above what they offer. One of em was in the Ft13th reboot and he didn't exactly wow me but to cut him some slack the material doesn't really allow that. But for a more appropriate comparison Jensen Ackles WAS in Batman Under The Red Hood where he played Red Hood. Not going to spoil things but considering who he was playing against Bruce Greenwoods Batman it shows why he's not Batman material and why someone like Greenwood was so good. Ackles was good in it but I'll just say the right people were cast for the right types of roles in that. Andrea Romano understood who fit what and certain people don't always fit certain roles.
To play against Cavill I still say you need a more mature rugged guy. Someone special. Someone with a certain kind of screen presence. This Batman needs to live up to the hardass image and attitude in this kind of world because this world takes the gloves off. Ill give Snyder the fact that he goes for men and not cover boy types in roles where they are needed. They didn't get some young pretty boy type as Leonidas in 300. Im thinking of his casting of Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Comedian too. The new Batman should be younger than that but Snyder realized that they couldn't just age up the wrong kind of guy.

Someone mentioned Karl Urban.. I can see that.. He's my favorite pick so far..
I'm trying to think of actors that could portray the Bat... but no one is coming to mind.

It's not like before Batman Begins. There were a few decent and obvious choices out there but for ME personally Bale was the best choice.
Between American Psycho, Shaft, and Equilibrium I thought he showed he had what it took to be a solid Batman and Bruce Wayne.

Bruce greenwood voicing batman is awesome. If he were a little younger id take him for a live action batman. He's a terrific actor, conventionally handsome, charming ...oh shit...I have a man crush again...

Matt bomer ?
He's good looking, good at playing suave, not quite as tall as cavill- connected to WB....

I know he tried for Superman at one point but Batman? I can't really see it. I mean he's got the superhero face but I think in some ways he had a better shot at being Superman and even that had a had slim chance of happening. I just think they'll want someone with a stronger look for Batman. Maybe it'll be a guy a bit taller and someone who is good looking but contrasts more with Cavill than Bomer does. They look like they could play brothers in something. I think there's more leeway when it comes to looks of potential Batmen than there is with potential Supermen.

No way man. Bomer looks far too much live Cavill!
Gosling is actually a decent shout. I'm really interested to see who they cast though, I really haven't the faintest idea.

Well Jesus that's the boringest blandest fucking choice they could make. He doesn't really have the looks and he's cardboard. If WB is considering him its yet another example of them looking in house for someone they can deal with fast because he's worked for them before.

Well he's got the look, but I haven't really seen anything with him in it to judge.

JGL would be an awesome choice. Not. I agree, JGL is not Batman material, maybe Nightwing. I can't really see him as any type of Superhero honestly.

Personally- since MOS (to me) feels like an 'Elseworlds' Superman story at this point (which isn't necessarily a bad thing).... I'd greatly prefer them to merge it with Gordon Levitt's Robin/Batman--- (whatever the heck his name was in TDKR and not Bruce Wayne).
Why? Because it would at least be both 'Nolanverse Batman 4' AND 'MOS 2' at the same time. It would less reboot fatigue imo... and, they've already committed to a Superman/Batman teamup anyhow...
In any case, mildly curious- but it does feel like a step backwards, rather than forwards, for superheroes...

Would everyone at the very least be slightly OKAY with it being JGL?

I don't even know if I'd be ok with it. I like JGL just not as Batman. At best he looks like he should be playing Terry McGuinness. Now if he was doing THAT movie I would t mind even though he's a bit old for it. Then again he still looks like BatBoy.

Id Agree with you but for something that's supposed to be a HUGE deal it really should be Wayne and Kent. I mean...they only get one chance to do this for the first time and if they want this to be as big as it possibly can be they should give people that want this what most have always wanted. Not the team of up second string replacements. That's not what geeks have dreamed about for decades. Going with Blake would lose a lot of potentially classic elements a DC film universe could have. I guess Levitt could play the rebooted Wayne but not only does he not fit but it could be a little confusing for some. It's not like Cavills Superman has a ton of history over the new Batman with audiences so that's not going against a reboot Bruce Wayne.

I love Regular Joe. He's my favorite actor of my generation. I still say no.

True, but.... I kind of feel like with MOS it's already created a Superman with a background that isn't my ideal...so my expectations are already a bit undermined... but having Gordon-Levitt as Robin/Batman at the end of TDKR would actually make me feel more excited to see it, for some reason. (Given that they're committed to a team up rather than a standalone sequel anyways)

Ugh, Sam Worthington???
Seriously???
Ooof.
Nah, that couldn't be.
I'm not expecting much out of this movie, but if that's true, then the movie is *FUCKED*.

If people laughed at Bale imagine Worthington's Bat voice. Especially when he screams. My gut tells me he won't end up being Batman but then again WB's made dumb choices before
