Lol. If its him as batman I'll have ZERO interest. I'd rather they bring Clooney back. Can Worthington even hide his accent? So far his American accents never convinced me.

Just pay Christian Bale $10 million for what will probably be 20 minutes max of screen time as Batman / Bruce Wayne.
It'll be worth it and he will bring in the bucks!

Kris makes a good point. After Batman/Superman then what? Get Bale to come back for JL? What about after that if WB wants to do more solo Batman movies set in this universe? As much as a liked Bale it makes more sense to get a new guy if WB has LONG TERM plans. Marvel got Downey to commit to long term plans. Solo films and a team up. If WB wanted Bale to be in Justice League they should have made the deal like five freaking years ago. Then they could have started to make long term plans. Continuing the Nolanverse as part of a DC film universe hasn't really been an easy thing for along time. Dealing with Bale film by film just puts WB behind the 8 ball and it doesn't help the Batman solo series at all. WB wants both their top characters as draws in solo and team up movies.
Bale would ask for a lot more than $10 mil for 20 minutes. A lot more.

Wes Bently was just cast in Nolan's Interstellar, some are saying he's also being considered for Batman.
I always liked this guy, I remember thinking he would have been great casting when Year One was being rumored 12 years ago.
He pretty much vanished for a decade but he's popped back up in The Hunger Games and now Interstellar.

I know his name kept popping up for years before Batman Begins.
He's been in some awful comic book movies but that was beyond his control by the time filming started.
He's not my ideal choice but Bentley would be better than some of the names being tossed around now. I think I could live with it. He's got the dark looks and aging since he was in the spotlight the most will probably help him fit the part more. I just wonder if he can play tough and intense strongly enough. If he is Batman it might be smart for him to go the Keaton route and say less. His height is in the average range of most of the other Batmen and he's relatively young but older than Cavill which could work. I'd start the move with this Batman already established.

Just listed the names out for the missus. I said Gosling was mentioned but she said he's definitely not Batman. As soon as I said Wes Bentley she said he's perfect.

I think Wes Bentley is brilliant, and his amazing performance in American Beauty and even his evil villain role in Ghost Rider has an air of Batman to it.
He'd be a great and dark Batman!

It depends on the direction for Batman. It's hard to see him match up with Cavill.

I assume you mean in terms of strength of personality/screen presence? Yeah that's my hang up too. But then again its not like Cavill did a whole heck of a lot in that department either. He didn't have the impact of a Reeve or Reeves yet so its not like he'd overpower someone else's performance that much. I think with the right approach as you say they could get it out of Bentley. There's no way some of the other rumored choices could bring that though. I picture Worthington's boring assed self and I just wince.
There just aren't a lot of great choices that immediately come to mind for Batman. Bentleys one of the least offensive I've seen and in fact I'd be ok with him.
