Lmao! Best Superman related ANYTHING all year. I wish Cain could have been there live but all those guys are good sports. "We do not speak of Teri Hatcher" "We do not speak of Kate Bosworth" "We do not speak of Dana Delany" "What'd be say?" I love the Daly show. I think this might top the one with Fillion and Rosenbaum.

The one with Fillon and Rosenbaum was hilarious. I must have watched that one like 5 times in a row I was laughing my ass off the whole time.

Liked that. Cain is awesome. Though sadly it confirms for me that Routh is a terrible actor. He's so unconvincing with his reactions and he has no presence.

I loved Rouths awkward humor. He seems to be good at that. He's kind of awkward in real life. Mark Millar gave him high praise for Zack and a Miri and the stuff he did with Justin Long. Tim Daly was the highlight of this one though.

Henry Cavill will be joining him soon.
These guys better hope that Tarantino has a small, little role for them to play. And soon.

Didn't QT love Superman Returns? I've heard of stranger things. Like Scorsese praising Exorcist II. I think I understand why Scorsese did that but his praise was a bit off IMO.

I don't think his career will soar.
People were all excited about the movie, but once opening weekend was over, the buzz just seemed to die and I think it's because a lot of people thought it was a very mediocre movie.
Sometimes that doesn't matter since the performance/actor will have a bigger buzz than the movie itself, (i.e. Daniel Craig as Bond), but I don't think that happened here. He was nice to look at for a lot of people, but I just don't think his performance resonated very much. It may not be his fault since all he had to do for much of the movie was mope around, but still, when all is said and done. I just don't see him having much longevity in the part either.
When writers stop apologizing for who Superman is and free him up to be interesting again, Superman will have its Daniel Craig. Until then, we have a series of unmemorable performances.

He was definitely nice to look at, but I am now wondering how much of that was actually due to the new costume. If Routh had been given the MoS costume, I wonder what would have happened.

Cavill wasn't bad but he wasn't all that engaging either. He was kind of flat and monotone for decent sized chunks of the movie. If he lost the role tomorrow they could find someone else to step in if they had to. There's been far better as far more inspired superhero casting over the last 15 years where the actors got to give stronger performances.

You could've given him Reeve's costume and he still would've been average.

It'll be interesting to see if Tom Hardy's Max will outdo Cavills Superman as far as an all around entertaining performance.
Like you said Craig's one guy that jumped in and owned it in the first film even though Bond was also still forming who he was. If Craig had quit one movie that would have he's a real loss.

Get off Craig's dick. He's good but he's not anywhere near as good as we're being led to believe here, he's brilliant in Casino Royale, but for me he didn't exactly rise above the mediocrity of Quantum or Skyfall.
Routh did a reasonable job with a shit script, I have no problem with him, Superman was awkward in that whole film because of the way it was written and what the film was trying to be and I think he did about as good a job as most could have done. Cavill managed to get a lot of praise even from those who were heavily critical of the film, he had great presence and in terms of showing his acting chops he lost out not having the secret identity thing to play with, he'll do just fine. No Superman actors career has ever soared.

That's because of circumstances with the best Supermen. Cavills said he doesn't plan on making those same kinds of choices. He's going to be given opportunities. If he goes for the big time and gets fair chances and fails he can only blame himself. The typecasting excuse isn't going to be in his way like it was for George Reeves. As for Craig he was a better Bond than Cavill was a Superman. Craig's had stiffer competition from other Bonds to boot and yet he's still near the top. The argument can at least be put forth that Craig is near the top of Bond actors. Not as easy to do with Cavill and Superman. If Craig had to drop out after CR it would have been a much sadder development.

uhm yeah, is there a point there? He's a better actor than Cavill and made his Bond debut in a much better film than MOS. Still not this Brando-esque genius he seems to be, being made out to be on here now. Aside from Brosnan there hasn't really been a mediocre Bond, they've all been extremely good, but Craig's here in the now and I think people prefer the more brutal Bond he gets to play. Still prefer Connery to any of them, as someone once said, without him the other don't have a pot to piss in. I thought Dalton was pretty solid. I certainly don't see Bond as a role only Craig can do now, brilliant choice for it but lets not get carried away.

Hate him all you want, Reeve is part of Hollywood legend now. Cavill won't be.
Face it, Kris, MOS was a very mediocre movie. And Cavill was an ok Superman, but he will NEVER be as good as Reeve. Or Craig.
Sorry.

I certainly don't see Bond as a role only Craig can do now, brilliant choice for it but lets not get carried away. Yeah and you just reinforced it. Cavill was alright but so far nothing special. Why couldn't MOS have had a better actor in the lead? Why did MOS feel the need to suck all the fun out when even CR let Bond show some emotional range? I don't think anyone said Craig was a Brandoesque genius but the way CR was put together shows why its so much stronger a film than MOS. And as you yourself say there have been a lot of solid Bonds. That's less true with Superman. Some were ok but most were not at the level of the Bonds. Sure the requirements are different but when the best Supermen were cast they aimed high with the talent they got. They've always seems to an higher with Bond and that's why there have been a few more memorable actors in the role. WB has had a long history on lacking creativity and aiming low with characters that could be big hits on the big screen.

You'd need to ask the makers. For the script he worked with I thought Cavill did a great job, aside from a few on here he's one thing that seems to have genuinely gotten very positive feedback, based on what I've read and who I've spoken to anyway. Like I said you take away the dual identity and have him as a lost soul who wanders you're already cutting down on what he's capable of showing in terms of range and performance, I'm still a bit disappointed they've opted to start up the JL stuff and he won't get to show this in a solo MOS sequel. Although it's not my type of show he was very good in The Tudors and receives high praise for that so he's a good actor.
All I'll say is this, for all the Craig cock riding Enrique's been doing, he's really impressed me in 1 out of 3 Bond films. Not exactly a large success rate thus far. Maybe people think he's entitled to extra credit because he's weird looking I dunno. Bond will go on after Craig and I won't be shocked if the next one is very good too, they generally do a steller job with casting Bond and even though he's not to my liking even Brosnan went down well with the majority.

I don't know why you keep saying I'm cockriding Craig when all I've said is that the guy is an awesome Bond.
Actually, I do know why: You're just being hateful because Craig resonated with the public and Cavill hasn't.
So you're saying I'm "cockriding" Craig to be a vindictive, spiteful cunt.
Skyfall had sold more tickets than ANY Bond going to 1965, when the series was in its youthful prime.
The truth hurts, I know.
Lash away if you wish but that won't change that MOS disappointed at the box office (and just got surpassed by Despicable Me 2) and that Cavill can't compare to Craig. Don't take my word for it. Read the newspapers and magazines.
Nobody will give a shit about Cavill in 10 years. He'll be a bullet point in a Superman article one day, but that's it.

You're riding Craigs cock, we're talking about Superman not Bond. Two completely different animals. I know you don't like to get it back but dems the facts.
You're a grown man Enrique, get another hobby. At this rate you wouldn't look out of place with the pubeless little plebs on imdb.
ps. Skyfall was mediocre, I don't give a shit how many tickets the 3rd installment of a new era of a Bond franchise did.
