For a long time, many of us were saying that Kevin Spacey would have been perfect as Luthor. When he was actually cast, it was like a dream come true.
So why was he so crap in the role?

Why ask why? Try Bud Dry? Nope.
Why is crap so crappy?
Maybe we can all read the ingredients of chewing gum to unravel the secrets of the universe.

Mav, why did you lock that thread and refer it to the Superman Returns thread?
I mean, why not just lock every damn thread on the board and reduce the whole board to a STM, SII, SIII, SIV, SR and Superman TV thread?
Then we would have only six threads in the whole board.

I agree with Enrique; it's not as if we get 100s of new threads a day.
Locking threads done for the sake of it IMO

I sorta agree in principle. But really, ATP's SR baiting is reaching Warlock levels, and THAT clogs things up a bit.
I do think that we can handle multiple threads about the aspects of SR, and even Smallville for that matter if that's what it comes to.

If ATP is simply busting balls, then I would understand locking the thread. But he was REFERRED to the SR thread. Which is why I was led to believe it was a topic related decision, not a ballbreaker related one.

Again, I agree with Enrique
ATP posed a valid question; a lot of people were disappointed in Spacey

Indeed. And I'm sure there are plenty of people who don't look at the SR thread anymore 'cuz it's so damn huge and all over the place topic-wise.
I thought Spacey was pretty good, but he should've been amazing. It's REALLY fucking weird that he wasn't amazing. Doesn't make sense.

A lot of his line readings were off IMO. Very strange seeing as usually he can do no wrong.

Spacey was good but not great.
But I think it was the script, which seemed confused about whether to treat him witha foppish sense of humor or serious, ruthless murderer.
Kinda like the rest of the film really, which seems wishy-washy about whether it's a sequel or not in parts.

I sorta agree in principle. But really, ATP's SR baiting is reaching Warlock levels, and THAT clogs things up a bit. I do think that we can handle multiple threads about the aspects of SR, and even Smallville for that matter if that's what it comes to. EVERYTHING Val just said. Multiple threads pertaining to all things supes is fine in the Superman section as long as its not multiple threads on news of a movie. But this was just another ATPism. Also the dumb excuse of an existing thread being too big? WTF? So, someone posts something new to discuss in an existing thread pertaining to the subject, which bumps the thread & everyone joins in. So, what exactly is the down side of that? How can a thread be too big? There is no "digging through" the existing thread, as the new post would be the newest thing in the thread. Theres no logic to that argument. Cue Russ & Enrique (Only ones who ever do) & let the crying continue. I cant wait for the thread merging feature to get here that will kill the incessant whining from you two & render ATP's gags helpless. You'll have nothing to complain about then. Though, I'm sure you'll make something new up.
