"Wrath" was one of SV's lesser episodes for sure. Anything Lana-centric usually is. As for the Supersex? I never thought making Clark & Lana sexually active was appropriate in the first place. His sexual purity in the comics (and on Lois & Clark) was something to be admired.

Apocalypse was a pretty good episode, but with some issues. I really like the other "what if" episode in Lexmas, too.
I liked the touch of bringing back the sheriff who was killed long ago, but not bringing back Jonathan and Martha Kent was a huge missed opportunity. Was John Schneider not available, and did they even think about bringing him back?
After all, isn't telling us something rather than showing it to the audience an example of poor writing? Off on a cruise? That's just lazy.
They should have had Lana marry Whitney, just to F with Clark. ;D
Shouldn't Kara have been 40 years old in that timeline? They should have aged her a bit.
Then Clark went back to Krypton, another missed opportunity. They could have brought on Jor-El. I don't know if they'd use Stamp since he's much older than Jor-El should be, but they could have done something there. Instead, it just looked like the Fortress set with the camera shaking.
They should have fleshed it out to two episodes. The alternate timeline felt very rushed.

I liked the touch of bringing back the sheriff who was killed long ago, but not bringing back Jonathan and Martha Kent was a huge missed opportunity. Was John Schneider not available, and did they even think about bringing him back? Both Schneider and O'Toole weren't available. After all, isn't telling us something rather than showing it to the audience an example of poor writing? Off on a cruise? That's just lazy. It is, but at least you know they're alive and well. And of course, both actors weren't available. They should have had Lana marry Whitney, just to F with Clark. ;D The actor who played Whitney was busy with Sci-Fi's Flash. Shouldn't Kara have been 40 years old in that timeline? They should have aged her a bit. It's called suspended animation. Then Clark went back to Krypton, another missed opportunity. They could have brought on Jor-El. I don't know if they'd use Stamp since he's much older than Jor-El should be, but they could have done something there. Instead, it just looked like the Fortress set with the camera shaking. Terry Stamp is expensive. They should have fleshed it out to two episodes. The alternate timeline felt very rushed. Very true.

It's called suspended animation. But in that timeline, she wasn't in suspended animation for 18 years. Lex mentions that his dad raised her as one of his own.

Yes, remember, Kryptonians live forever on Earth. Remember, the one episode where the psychic kid from season one said Clark's life had no end? Why is Welling aging? I don't know.

Nice rebuttal there, legs. Apocalypse was great in that we got to see (albeit an alternate version) the always hinted-at future where Lex Luthor is President of the USA. Having Superman who stands for "Truth, Justice and the American Way," find his greatest nemesis the commander-in-chief of the land he loves makes a compelling story. Especially if President Luthor deems the Man of Steel a security risk and an enemy of the state. It was a great concept that was never used to its full potential in the comics, aside from its conclusion in the first Batman/Superman story arc. If a SV film ever came to be, this is the plotline I'd like to see. It's definitely more interesting than Lex Luthor: Real Estate Broker. The whole 'going back to Krypton' thing seemed rather haphazardly thrown in to tie everything up, but I think the Writer's Strike was to blame for that. I was very dissapointed the original version of "Vertias" was not included on the DVD set. It was an extended cut that would wrap up the season if the Strike wasn't resolved, and featured scenes later used in "Descent" as well as additonal scenes that were NEVER used. There was a deleted scene on the set that showed Brainiac taking Kara to the Amazon to use her bracelet for...something. Another deleted scene NOT on the set but shown in previews had Lex approaching the Fortress of Solitude in a different way than presented in "Arctic."

Tying in the newspaper article from the very first episode "Queen Industries CEO Missing" to the Veritas plot over 6 years later was very clever.

Finally got around to watching last week's episode and the ending gave me goosebumps. I love how this season has involved Brainiac, Zod and Doomsday. Did anyone else flip out when the S flashed on the screen for a second? I cannot wait for this week's episode...and for me to say that about Smallville is a huge suprise.

Jimbo: The Veritas plot an admirable attempt to tie together a lot of the series' past. Making the Luthors, Swanns, Queens, and Teagues all members of a secret society with knowledge of "The Traveler" was interesting, but it did have its fair share of revisionist history and plot holes.
Lionel's character in particular is difficult to understand here. He kills the Queens, works with the Teagues before the pilot, but it takes him until Season 4 (15 years later) to kill Dr. Swann? And if he knew about "The Traveler" all along then Clark should have been much less of a mystery to him, especially since he was aware of the mysterious circumstances the Kents adopted him under. The most confusing episode in all this was "Traveler" where his motivations are never explained. And the idea of Jor-El sending a device to Earth that would control Clark is suspect, as were most of the explanations given in "Quest" by Dr. EMH. I'm glad they dropped this angle in Season 8.
"Decent" was the best episode of the season and one of SV's best overall. There's a great touch in the very last shot at cemetery, with a beam of light coming down shining on Lionel's grave. Did he get his redemption after all? Good stuff.
Refugee: Glad you're enjoying the season and have an open mind about the series. It's really a lot better than some people think. ;D

Red kryptonite episodes are like Risa episodes on Star Trek.

Oh for sure. I'm just curious who the big Legion Baddie is for this episode. He said it wasn't Darksied (Darkside?) but it was supposed to be a big one.
Any thoughts on who it could be?
