I swear, I think someone is kidnapped in every episode.
I tuned in briefly last night and saw Lionel strapped to a bed with a bear trap attached to his arm.

You should have stayed tuned 'til the end. Lionel escapes and totally OWNS that creepy lady keeping him captive.

The Justice League Returns! SPOILERS!community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-News-Blog/Todays-News/Smallville-Justice-League/800042575Get ready for the return of the Justice League. When Smallville comes back in September, the Super Friends reunite to search for Clark Kent, who went missing in May's season finale after tussling with Lex Luthor at the Fortress of Solitude. Smallville creators Al Gough and Miles Millar have departed (and are currently producing the Hannah Montana movie), so four of the series' longtime producers have taken over for Season 8. "Luckily [Al and Miles'] voices are still talking to us in our heads as we're breaking stories," says Kelly Souders, who is running the show with Brian Peterson, Todd Slavkin and Darren Swimmer. "Their visions come to us all the time, so I think they did a great job of preparing us for this day." One of the first things the new quartet did was lock in Justin Hartley for at least 12 episodes as Green Arrow/Oliver Queen, a fan favorite who appeared frequently in Season 6 and once last season. He'll start this new chapter by gathering Aquaman and Black Canary to rescue Clark. Alan Ritchson and Alaina Huffman will reprise their roles, as will Phil Morris, whose Martian Manhunter also appears in the opener, titled "Odyssey." This season's theme is "double identities," Souders says. "It's about the Superman identity emerging as Clark Kent tries to maintain a normal life — or the appearance of a normal life." To that end, he takes a job at the "Daily Planet," right across the desk from Lois Lane (Erica Durance). "The camaraderie as they work side-by-side that everyone loves from the DC Comics and all the Superman lore is going to come to fruition this year," Souders says. "The two of them are thrown together in some unfortunate situations for Clark. She becomes a little bit of an obstacle to him saving the world, when he's on a deadline." — Rich Sands

Season 7 Blu-rays will be out soon.
After I watch the season, I can fully complain about the show since I'll be up to speed. ;D

Allison Mack returning and Justin Hartley as a regular are what's bringing me back for Season 8.
After the EXTREMELY dissapointing season finale, Michael Rosenbaum leaving the show, and the additions of DOOMSDAY and MS. TESSMACHER/MERCY to the cast I was seriously considering just waiting for the DVD.
It's a love/hate relationship.

I only tune in for the "big" episodes. I don't hate Welling. I DO hate Kreuk. And I think Hartley is the best thing about the show.
I'm also in the severe minority who think Durance makes a TERRIFIC Lois, and absolutely buries the dopey broad from Returns.

I absolutely love Durance's portrayal of Lois Lane. A lot better than her counterpart in SR, methinks.

I actually tired watching some of the episodes again recently.
My county has a great library system. You can request books, dvds, etc from any of the different sites and it will be sent to my library free of charge.
So I selected some of the so called "good episodes". WHile I watched only a couple from each season I was amazed how little I did not understand!!!! NOTHING really changes on the show. The characters, the plotlines. Its just a merry-go-round. Lana and Clark are apart, then they are together, then they are part. Then repeat! Lex is always certain Clark is hiding something, LEx is always rebelling against his father. Lionel's always seems to know everything. About Clark and about Krypton- but never seems to use that knowledge.

Not only is Allison Mack hot, she's also a great actress whose character is arguably the best non-Luthor on the show. It's unfortunate she was shafted for many years in favor of Kristen Kreuk, but she finally started to get her due around the 4th Season or so.

Yeah, Bosworth isn't that great. Plus, she needs a pretzel or something, looking mighty starved.
