The panel also hint at a whole figure line based on STM - They have obviously managed at long last to secure Reeve's likeness just as they did with Brando...

I talked to them about this in April. It's gonna happen. It might take another year or two, but we WILL get a DC Direct STM line. Since DC Direct works in small waves, we'll probably just get Superman, Jor-El, Zod, Non, and Ursa.
Which is just fine with me.
Also spoke to them about the possibility of Keaton and/or West Batman stuff.

And?
If they make a DC universe live action line of figures I'll be flat broke by next year. I've DREAMED of a Reeve Superman figure my whole life. When I was a kid I'd sub the Superpowers figure.

Let's hope they do it right, question is what film they'd base his look around. I'd be happy with anything up to + including SIII
IMO the ideal would be to base it on how he looked in the late stages of filming STM. Bring on an STM line, great news and thx for posting Martin

I'm a HUGE figure collector & STM figures have been the Holy Grail my entire life. God, this is a day to celebrate!!!!! ;D ;D ;D On that same note, it looks like were gonna get some decent Superman Returns figures as well. The 5 inch ones that they made for Batman Begins, Superman Returns & Dark Knight are the usual Kids crap that they churn out. However, when DC Direct secured the AWESOME talents of The Four Horsemen (Incredible Figure Sculptors), they started the new & AMAZING DC Universe line of 7 inch figures for adult collectors. To compliment that line, they have started a "Sister Line" called Movie Masters that has 7 inch adult collectors figures that go along with the Universe line. Their first figures are the ones for Dark Knight, & let me tell you, they are NICE. But hard to get a hold of. They sell out FAST. MUCH better looking than the regular Dark Knight kiddie figures. Its looking like they are gonna back up & do Batman Begins & Superman Returns as well./ A nicely sculpted 7 inch Spacey Lex in that cool white Trench Coat? FINGERS CROSSED.

i've always wanted a Reeve Superman figure. let's hope they don't screw up the likeness. also a whole line based on STM would be awesome. can't wait to see what they look like.
imagine they made a daily planet helicopter rescue playset. how ridiculously awesome would that be? the helicopter, superman, lois in her yellow getup and some kind of diorama representing a few floors of the building.

In order to do a Reeve statue correctly DC will have to pay very close attention to; *The costume detail (colours/symbols, etc.) *The pose/base/scale *Most crucially - The headsculpt/likeness. Direct have produced some pretty striking statues in a short time - the best and most recent examples being the Joker & Batman from TDK. The best comparisons for likeness and scale however come from even better sources - take the Lynda Carter Wonder Woman - She comes in at a whopping 14" with base with a more than passable likeness. Then look at the Superman Returns Maquette. Out of all the feeble attempts to capture Routh this came closest and I can assure you, is much better in person... So what to do with Reeve? I have been thinking hard since the story broke and have a mini wish list; *It must be at least 14" tall *MUST be based on STM alone *Should be painted in production accurate (as opposed to screen accurate) colours *Should be the last word in accurate likeness. Having looked over and over at images the pose I feel is most suited to capturing the spirit of Reeve in character is this; From an uncommon cityscape still - And this as a face/headsculpt reference; I'm trying not to set my hopes too high but frankly I'm very encouraged by Direct's sculpting - I'll save my views on the all-important figure line 'till next time... Thoughts guys...?

Not quite the closed fists on the hips, a little more relaxed like the Linda Carter statue. It's loyal to STM yet when he looked the most convincing (IMO) I REALLY hope they have him standing at/behind at the Fortress control panel (Donners that is)
