I actually noticed them way back when the Reeve films first came out on DVD.
I'm indifferent to the effect, I guess, though part of me leans towards liking it. Particularly because it means I "discovered" something new about the Reeve films. No matter how trivial it is.

I saw the commercial again and the "he's kinda hot" line didn't bug me this time.

Wonder what women think of that line? Seeing as there isn't a single one HERE... You guys are just looking for poop to complain about, now. It's out in less than two weeks for most of us. Just go with it. If it sucks, complain all about it here, but until then...ahhh whatever. Looking for poop to complain about? Gimme a break, dude. The basketball game was, I stood up to grab a soda in between commercials and there was the MoS commercial. All I did was post my reaction to the commercial.

Aw, man, did you guys see that tv spot with the chick saying, "He's kinda hot!"
Talk about forcing it.
I totally get that you have to market it to women, but come on. You gotta do it with a little more finesse to make it cool.
Like the Craig Bonds, force it without seeming like you're forcing it.

Why is Faora speaking like a Russian? And she sounds like reciting her lines rather than really being the character[/quote Could it be that she was raised in Russia? A little Red Son action?

I LIKE IT!
Looks like something out of Labryinth or even Supergirl. Like you said, like something out of those 80s fantasy films.
Hey! Is that Zaltar?
"And that I can...ZIP ZAP!! AND I'M GONE!!!!"
"SQUIRT?"

Well, if Jenny Olsen is in the movie as a photographer working for the Daily Planet, and there's no Jimmy Olsen to be found, what would you call that? ;D If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck... I wonder what the point of this is. Jenny dies and Jimmy honors her by taking over her profession?

I was thinking about SIII and how it possibly set a precedent of what not to do in a part 3, (I still love the movie).
Years ago, I think someone on the board counted Superman's total screen time vs Pryor's.
Does anybody know what it is?

Yeah, they're Bonding it: men want to be him; women want him.
It's working out great for Daniel Craig.

The scream was alright. I don't see a resemblance to Reeve's scream, which seemed born of emotional tragedy whereas Cavill's looked like a lobster clipped his balls.

The amazon samples page seems to be down...But we have this... From Bleeding cool (edit: confirmed to be valid through other sites as well) Six minutes of the Score 1:01. Anyone want to be this is the precise, melancholy moment in the movie where Kal-El's ship takes off and we are left with a silent sequence where we see close-ups of Jor-El and Lara watching the craft while everything falls apart around them and everyone dies and only Zimmer's soundtrack in the speakers?

I just realized EXACTLY why I haven't been excited about MOS. And why I was suddenly excited when I heard Zod/Shannon yell "I will find him!" Passion. Up until that moment, the scenes I've seen are devoid of passion. It's ALL cold, melancholy, unemotional or detached. Frankly, not unlike the tone of SR. But Zod's uttering of that line was passionate and emotional. I like that. So in in other words, the movie needs emotional content? Not anger? THAT'S IT! How did it come to you?

May I ask why General Zod is all the way out on Geonosis?
Is he joining Yoda on the perimeter?

The prequels aren't remembered well, but since you bring up the comparison, I don't think SR holds up as well as you think.

Not so fast.
Each prequel had a better bad guy than SR. Each prequel had a more exciting climax than SR. Each prequel had better acting: Both SR and the prequels had poopty acting, but Ewan McGregor, Christopher Lee, Ray Park, Ian McDiarmid Liam Neeson, and Ray Park werenall more memorable in the prequels than ANYONE in SR.
The prequels are flawed, but more exciting than SR at the end of the day.

I think between 70 and 130.
Word of mouth is the major variable here. If it's perceived as "must see", it will do better in the long run.
I can remember back when TDK came out, a guy told me about 2 weeks after it came out, "I'm finally seeing it today because I'm sick of hearing how awesome it is."
If, on the hand, it resembles more SR: slow going, EMO, not enough action, then the movie is frackED.

I'm sure Zimmer's score will be good, may even have to give a few chances. I remember I didn't like his Bat theme at first but now I love it.

The problem with Superman is the lack of a good Superman for 30 years.

General Zod: Kal El, you disappoint me. The Kryptonian Council held you in such high esteem.
::heat vision blares out::
Zod: Surely you can do better!
Why can't Christopher Lee be in every movie ever made?

Mr. Snyder, please put in Christopher Lee as a Kryptonian? in cgi? That goes without saying!
