Routh seemed flat last night. I dunno, I checked out a few minutes but I can't stand the show. After this week I'm boycotting all NBC shows, so I won't get to enjoy Kreuk's appearance.

I disagree. I think he delivered a great performance. And his introduction in the show was kickass. He is getting lots of very good reviews actually.

I'm on an Anti-NBC tirade at the moment.

It could have been the Erica Durance hour and I still would have hated it.

I dunno, I checked out a few minutes but I can't stand the show.

A few minutes isn't exactly giving it a fair chance....BUT, I will say, even though the show isn't hard to understand- it really needs viewing the pilot to be engaged. (Had the same experience with "Rome"--- a few minutes here and there looked uninteresting--- but when I finally got to the end of the pilot, things clicked more into place and was hooked.)

Still...
I hear you about NBC. An aside- I finally read how many options AREN'T open to Conan right now.... it really sucks. Having a show on Comedy Central is not the same as having Conan on a network nightly--- that guy was born to do late night shows, though I personally preferred watching Conan in his original spot on NBC after watching Letterman as his 'warmup act' nightly....

And.... with $35 million in his pocket, wouldn't feel TOO bad for Conan....

Star, I FINALLY picked up "Chuck Season 2", and am halfway through--- so I can kind of comment-

First-

I shouldn't have been suprised that the second season is twice as good (so far) as the first, and the first one was really strong (I recently rewatched season 1--- in seeing it back to back, it really feels like the only way to watch these shows, though I know I'm not helping ratings much by watching the shows primarily on dvd...)---

In watching the first season, I mentioned being worried that things would get stale--- but, in watching how clever these episodes really are, so long as the showrunners (and cast) enjoy doing it, I think it could go on for years..... though with Zach being cast in
"Thor" then having it give it up to go back to "Chuck"---- owwww..... how can that not put a sour taste in coming back to the show? So, there's that worry that maybe Zach may not want to continue.....

Another "Chuck" aside..... there was a special "3d" episode that aired on NBC in season 2--- apparently it ONLY is available in limited release on the regular season 2 dvd set- with glasses, and they dont' mention it on the website.

(Grrrr for dvd exclusives that dont' get mentioned. I just got mine by seeing it by accident in the store...)

Anyhow, thought I'd pass it on. It's a bit on the pricey side, for sure--- but if it's a bonus you're interested in, I'd run down to Best Buy to see if they have any left with the exclusive... (it says it on a sticker of SOME of them on the front box)...

So are you done watching season 2 already? If not, believe me when I say that the last 7 or so eps of S2 are fantastic! The emotion, the action, the fun is better than ever, imo!

Yeah, man, you could at least turn the TV on when the show is airing even if you don't watch.

yeah, probably. I think Season 3 is great so far as well. It's different; the stakes are higher, the tone is a little bit darker and it just feels more mature overall. The dynamics are definitely different, which I find refreshing. But it's still lots of fun. I'm loving it! Brandon's character, especial Agent Daniel Shaw, brings a whole new and interesting drama.

Who knows, he still seems very gracious and glad for the show so far. He's very talented, so I'm sure he'll do fine when the show ends.

I'm telling you, the 3D ep is nothing special, so you're not missing much.

Yeah, it turned out to be a good episode, but the 3d was inconsistent. Oddly, it seems to work GREAT in static shots when the camera doesn't move at all or there are long cuts that just sit there, but overall, 3d for telling stories is far far overrated thus far....

On the flip side, got done with Season two recently.... and it is GREAT!!!! (though I dunno about Chuck knowing kung fu and Bomer's fate in the last episode--- felt gimmicky, given his previous ressurection)

And I LOVE that Chuck knows kung fu, it really makes sense to me. But those physical abilities (because there are many more in the Intersect. ) are only temporary. I really like how it works. It's fun! And I like the way Bryce died, have no problems with it. He died a hero in Chuck's eyes. And yes, according to the showrunners, he is dead for good.

I have to say, that good/bad is that when I get the dvds, I really DEVOUR them and watch generally 4-5 episodes back to back late night, but that means that my memory of the specific episodes sometimes tend to blur.... though I will say that I really enjoyed; The last episode (the wedding), the episode with the older agent who had to teach Chuck how to seduce women, the one where Chuck has to get Jill back to get at Fulcrum, and the one with Sarah's dad, as well. The ones with the British agent.... didn't care for too much, a little too dark for the show imo.

Glad to hear on both fronts. I saw the promos and didn't like the idea of Chuck being superhuman --- so to hear it's temporary and laughs are gotten from it, helps. And..... I actually started to like Bryce, but hate the idea of reseurrections over and over again, so if he has to be dead in the series, at least he stays that way (although even that part's a bit dark for this show, too).

Funny that I don't mind the darkness in SR, but want Chuck to be somewhat light. Hm.

Thanks for the heads up.... The show has had so many surprising moments and directions, that I'm willing to invest the time (and money) in season 3 when it comes out on dvd, even if it goes darker than I want- although I have to say.... I really liked the dynamic of the retail life being just as comically dramatic as the James Bond stuff--- if the Buy More politics is gone, I'll definitely be disappointed.... that was the yin to the yang on that show.

Surprisingly, I like her work in the show. A true testament of how horrible the Smallville production handled her character.

According to the critics who have seen early screenings of this ep, it's supposed to be by far the best of the season and one of the best in the series. It's also Brandon's last one in the show, as far as I know.

I caught the last part of the cast thing....though I'm really annoyed at myself that I didn't catch the whole. The videocamera was acting up, so I couldn't get a good image at all. Zach Levi/Chuck and Gomez seemed to be very much (in good ways) like the characters you see on the tv show. Easy going and VERY funny guys. I'm bummed that the convention shows that these guys attend (they've been to almost every Comicon) aren't made available in hi-def on the dvd sets..*sigh*

On the plus side, the actors you like on the show seem just as likeable onstage. Sorry I couldn't share a video of it, though.

And....did not see Brandon, sadly. (Don't know how he must feel at these shows, particularly with his role in the new SUperman movie up in debate).

Have to say that things didn't exactly happen the way I was expecting with Brandon's character in his last two eps, especially the last one.... BUT I'm over it now.

Yes, what happens to him shocked me! ;D Sure I laugh now but the truth is that it was some very sad stuff going on. It was well done and dramatic, though, so yeah, and most importantly, Brandon was brilliant actingwise.

I CAN'T wait to hear your thoughts on season 3, CAM.
