Thanks for the link MerM--- That was a great read. Funny just how much the internet rumors have caused so much influence on Hollywood decisions in the last decade or so (overall), it seems.
Also, it was funny to read that Zimmer was so paralyzed by comparisons to Williams that he kept procrastinating. Apparently top grade Hollywood composers can be just as intimidated of Williams' work as anyone else can- that's hilarious!
The part with the guitars do sound odd on the surface, but---
If it's not going to be Williams (Jerry Goldsmith has long since passed on), I couldn't think of another composer outside of Zimmer that I thought/think could deliver an equally memorable score.

Really looking forward to this score now (especially since I am a drummer too!).
But excited to see this new take on what we imagine a Superman theme to be and expecting Zimmer to really bring something totally original not just in terms of a Superman or superhero movie but a totally original score unlike anything he or any composer has done before.
I am quite sure it will be a hard pill to swallow at first, but once put into context with the film on screen, I am sure we will become addicted to it (or a good 90% of us will love it!).
I don't think too much of The Dark Knight themes, although I admit they also work in the context of those films, but I am hoping Zimmer will come up with something far more uplifting and memorable.

True.... but it's interesting in that the article seems to talk a lot about the score being based on hope of the character and something magical--- whereas the footage (and stills) that we see all look like the lighting is bordering on a horror film.
With all this mystery, it's nice that the movie is (finally) just around the corner....

Yeah, I highly doubt any of the music from the movie will be in the actual trailer itself. That VERY rarely happens nowadays, if at all, really.

Was a really nice video, but it reminded me of how great a job I think Singer/Routh did (overall) in transitioning the Donner/Reeve over to this generation.... and brought up old wounds of how the Singer/Routh Superman never got a chance to really go further by not getting any sequels. Still....very nice video. Would have been interesting if he worked in the other actors who played Superman into it as well- George Reeves/ Kirk Alyn, tv Supermen, etc. (Maybe another video in the future?)

The more I see SR the more it pisses me off how Singer approach it. It's either a sequel or it's not and not some fucking rubbish about a vague sequel. If he was connecting it to the Donnerverse he should have really connected it. Using the "I spent the night with Superman" line, the music, Marlon Brando, "you sound like you've been here before" to Lex nonsense but telling us to ignore certain aspects of all the movies is dumb. They should have had Routh in the same costume as Reeve, they should have shot it in New York, should have used the same farmhouse, used everything to tie it in. They could have used the same Krypton suit Brando wore for his travels and if they want to update the Superman costume use a new suit when he returns. Best of both worlds. Perry even mentions a new suit yet the photo in Lois' article has the same suit he wore throughout the movie.

I liked the gesture of the video. But yeah seeing the SR scenes just reminds me of what a let down it was.
It makes my cock floppy

I would have preferred a more solid choice, too. It's not a deal-breaker on liking the film for me, but it did stop things now and then on watching the film, for example, I remember scenes would come up and I'd think: 'ok--- uh, if she did actually sleep with Supes, does she remember it or not? And if he did sleep with Lois, he still didn't tell her his identity? Hm.... And, how could Lex know how to activate the chamber at the Fortress of Solitude but only at that point figure out that Jor-el is talking to his son?' My hope was that a sequel might have used flashbacks to sharpen up the continuity and backstory a bit so that viewers who wanted to really know the backstory could be clear on it.... but ... oh well.
