:)Saw the Zod promo on TV here in Ireland. Couldn't believe it. Normally they're not this big on promoting movies here until the a fortnight before but I heard my students talking about it today in school and was like a giddy child making my way over to chat about it but trying not to sound too geeky teacher like!  |

What exactly was expected though?
I mean Jor-El sounds like he's from Australia. In STM Zod and Ursa sounded like they were from England, as did Lara etc etc.

Precisely.
I don't want anyone who lived on Krypton to sound like they lived in the USA. I know it's stupid, but I just would prefer even a SLIGHT change in the way he speaks instead of just full on, "Nah, don't change your voice, just be yourself." I guess I'm fine with an alien from another planet coming here and looking just like a human but when it comes her and the alien sounds just like a human from the USA....ehhhhh....it's just jarring. I dunno. It's just a 30 second viral campaign. Maybe he sounds like that in the movie, maybe he doesn't. We'll see.

I agree.... even if the story had (for example) Zod as a 'sleeper agent' and has had been on Earth for years.... I'd imagine that there should be SOME accent or difference in how he speaks from being primarily from another planet.
On the flip side, if it was just an extra cool voice (James Earl Jones? Patrick Stewart?)- that would also forgive a lot. It was just 'meh'.
As you said, we'll see soon.....

Oh come on....Thor, coming from Asgard, which I'm sure has its OWN language...probably similar to some Scandinavian language...speaks with a British accent as do all of them in Asgard. I'm pretty sure we can all suspend our disbelief here like we do with most movies that have similar situations.

Very cool to see that playing in Times Square and unusual that WB wouldn't go for a more Truth, Justice and The American Way themed advertising for Man of Steel, ie lighter, but still very cool marketing. I'm sure closer to release, Times Square marketing will be the big S logo!
Any news on a new trailer today or was that a load of garbage?!
