That shot in space looks amazing.
I noticed a couple of things:
a) At 16 seconds people are watching that "viral" broadcast of Zod on TV.
b) At 8 seconds the flying shot looks like it came from the airplane rescue scene in SR. (Superman flying down and do the left in CGI.)
I am liking the look of Cavill as Superman more and more with every new picture. He actually looks a lot like Christopher Reeve - much more than Brandon Routh did.

Me, too. I was pretty horrified at how Cavill's face looked when I saw the first image with the bank vault, and then the candid one with the kid--- It's amazing how different someone can look in different photos/videos.

Who is he floating away from in space? Jor-El?

Guitars of steel for 'Man of Steel'. What's odd about that?

You know what? I wouldn't put it passed Zimmer to purposely use steel guitars to make that connection.

That Cavill shout reminded me of Reeve's (death of Lois), & messiah pose reminded me of SR. And I've got to say that shout by Cavill is really intense, like a reaction to someone dying. Can't wait to hear how it actually sounds like in the movie
And the final shot reminiscent of Supes recovering after being knocked into a tower (Metropolis battle with Phantom Zone villains in SII)

jesus. just that little TV spot gave me chills.
Cavill and Crowe look AMAZING
You know Clark screaming will be the moment Jonathan Kent dies. Sounds like he is screaming 'dad'
Agree with ATP, in a lot of these shots he does resemble Reeve a fair bit. Routh bore some resemblance to him at times, big difference is the other two don't look as boyish and more mature.

The scream was alright. I don't see a resemblance to Reeve's scream, which seemed born of emotional tragedy whereas Cavill's looked like a lobster clipped his balls.

That TV spot is fucking KILLER.
I had a feeling that was going to be the scene where Jonathan dies. It's probably his first big rescue but he doesn't save his pop.
Interesting that they threw in a Christ pose. More previous imagery reused. I'm totally fine with it, though.
I love that Supes has to rear back a little to fly. I always kinda liked that in the Flash TV show, how he kinda leans back and then just takes off.
It sure is nice to see Crowe giving it apparently his all. His eyes are saying a lot in the few seconds we see them. Acting is all in the eyes, and you can tell when an actor is bored, and Crowe is very clearly not bored in this one.

I love that Supes has to rear back a little to fly. He's gathering all his willpower before he flies.

I don't see any resemblance of Cavill looking like Reeve. I think some of you guys are really reaching. They're both good looking guys wearing a superman suit. That's pretty much where any resemblance ends. The official posters really suck so far. Aside from the S logo and the one where he's in shadow, they're direct screen grabs from the movie. If SR got anything right, it was a cool poster...

The new poster isn't bad, but I'm not impressed. I've seen better fan made posters. Like Jack said, it's a screen grab and the logo/credits pasted on. There's no style at all.
There should be something artsy/stylish for a Superman poster. Like the one above. I still love that poster.
As I look at that poster and see Routh's costume.. and after seeing Cavil's costume.. I don't like Routh's costume anymore... like at all. I don't really care for the S logo anymore either. I still like Superman Returns, but now looking at the costume.. it's not good at all.

Yeah, I definitely feel the same way. It almost looks silly, really. In pictures, anyhow. Been a while since I've watched it, I'm gonna do the unofficial trilogy before MOS. STM: SE, SII: RDC and SR.

Since the theatrical is on blu ray I've never looked back. My preference is theatrical with thau audio mix.

I haven't watched the bluray of STM: SE at all, so I figured I might as well. Haven't watched the Donner Cut, either.
Just had an interesting conversation with a very nerdy guy, knew about Donner and Blade appearances in Spider-Man in the past, he knew his stuff. It was interesting to talk to someone who I didn't know about Superman and he definitely has a sour taste in his mouth from Superman Returns. He's not all that excited for MOS because of it. He feels like this movie needs to be incredible to make him forget about it, and I'm willing to bet there's a lot of people out there that feel the same unfortunate way.

Interesting with the new poster, the emphasis on speed. Like, this guy is FLYING! Unlike these slow/plodding looking "posters". Seriously, these images are obviously just BR standing with the camera angle trying to emulate flying. No speed or sense of action. With that said, I do like the speed aspect of the new poster, I just wish the headshot was more "poster-like" it seems to off the cuff. Wouldn't doubt it if it was a screengrabb from one of the effects shots. But at this point, I doubt we'll see many classic, one of a kind, truly original posters for anything hollywood puts out.

I like SR, but with the exception of the "earth" poster (which is one of the best pieces of superhero promo art I've ever seen), every one of those was hideous and awkward. All of them are TERRIBLE. The DVD box art was particularly appalling.
There is NOTHING APPEALING about those images, and they don't do Brandon any favors.
