One thing I have been thinking of over the past few days:
One of the most frequent criticisms of the Nolan bat flicks has been "plot hole/plausibility". I don't want MOS to suffer the same ridicule.

I don't want MOS to suffer the same ridicule. it's going to be even harder with a Superman film, I just hope there's no glaring plot holes, nothing really daft that will take me out of the film.

Skyfail also suffered badly from enormous "plot hole/plausibility" issues.
2:30 mark:

I went to see iron man 3 and MoS trailer was there. It looked awesome on the big screen. They also showed the trailer for Thor and The Wolverine. 3 comic book trailers... I was in nerd heaven lol.
There was a kid sitting in the row in front of us, he had a superman shirt on and his cell phone had a superman cover. He was really excited to see the MoS trailer talking to his dad about it the whole time it was showing. It was pretty cool.
I'm getting tickets from Walmart to see the advance screening of MoS on the 13th I cannot wait for it. I think we're finally going to get a Superman movie we've been wanting for a long time. I know this is what I've been waiting for.

Our showing didn't have the trailer, either. Lame.
Someone brought to my attention how stupid Bruce Wayne is in the Nolan movies and I truly can't deny it. He is a complete fucking idiot compared to his other versions. He had to ask Alfred who Bane was? To find out more about him? WHAT?!

There was "Wolverine", "Thor", but no MOS trailer in front of IM 3 over here, too. As far as criticisms over plot holes/plausibility with Nolan's Batman films- I mainly only felt that (and in big measures) with TDKR.... thought BB and TDK actually went out of their way to try to keep plausibility for all their creative choices. The bigger offense to me is that they changed his character by having him be someone who would give up being Batman for months (or is it a year?) and consider the job of fighting crime 'done' because his girlfriend got killed.... bleaugh.

I brought this up a while ago when we were talking about JGL taking over as Batman. Bale's Bruce Wayne is somewhat of a himbo. They show scenes of him building stuff, but it's kind of a hard sell--I wouldn't mind a return to a more scientific Batman. The Animated Series Batman, basically.

I found Bruce Wayne getting lazy after each movie.
Anyway....even though I liked Iron Man 3, I felt that the real summer movie is Man of Steel. I realized this when I was looking forward to the trailer more than the movie!

Just finished watching "skyfall" again- wating STTMP right now.
The "idaho" reference was a witty-somewhat smug- nod to an american western state that is very very rural and rugged- a place not unlike where the skyfall manor is- way way out there where there really isn't any local law or big city convenience. Its a part of the country where for very pragmattic reasons its very useful to have a lot of rifles. That's just how it is. Lots of coyotes. Random moose. Etc. The gamekeeper (seriously? A gamekeeper?) Kept the munitions mantained.
---------
Also- I don't get this dig on bruce wayne for tdkr...
From the FIRST ACTof tdk bruce was desperate to find a way to relieve the burden he put on himself- that's exactly why he got behind harvey dent! When dent became 2 face and he decided to take the rap it was to protect a facade he helped create. The entire time he's already a schizo. So yeah, he doesn't know who bane is as he's been out of the game for years. He's rusty. The iron man series tries to make stark into a latter day howard hughes but it cartoonish. Nolans bruce is muuuuuuch more like it. And when he DOES turn it on he's all-in (at his peril) and quickly figures out who selina is, goes back into action And has new toys from lucious.
It all looks consistant to me.

Rough math here, but wasn't Nolan's Batman only around for like 6 months? And then a brief period 7 years later?
It still bothers me the route they took with TDKR, did anyone think back in 2008 that at the end of TDK Batman would go into hiding for 7 years? I thought it meant he was going back into the shadows, not being out in the open, being a threat and feared by all.

I figured he'd still fight crime and get chased by the police all the while, not completely stop.

I didn't mind it at all for TDK- because I thought by the end of it (at least how I read the film)--- Batman's connections with humanity were all but wiped out- He'd no longer be burdened with hoping that he could EVER give it up and join a girlfriend one day, and he gave up hope (with Harvey's death) that someone else could take over for him.
In a sense, the brilliance to me of the ending is that he becomes Batman--- For LIFE. It's a life sentence he accepts. He doesn't consider himself EVER getting free of it. He's become the demon, and will be until the day he dies and it's all about the mission of fighting evil. Nothing else (and, thus, the tragedy).
In Miller's "Dark Knight Returns" I was fine with Batman giving it up for years because of guilt over being responsible for Robin's death- not a girlfriend's death. It may be apples and oranges, but I felt more comfortable with Miller's rationale (plus the implication that he didn't stop being Batman for a loooong time first before retiring) than TDKR's.
Anyhow- I know a lot of folks who also loved TDKR, but, that aspect more than the rest.....

Can someone explain the "Idaho" thing to me? It's a shithole. Boise is the only major population center, and while it's not hick city the rest of the state is very rural. Sun Valley in the Sawtooth Mountains has become a nice little getaway for the wealthy. Bruce Willis and Tom Hanks own vacation homes there. The NBC-Comcast deal was struck there while executives stayed at a resort. The rest of it is high desert. A lot of nothing. Some of the rural folk can be just as big of rednecks as people from the South. As a native of Alabama, I speak with authority on the subject. There's some historical significance, though. The Oregon Trail, which brought settlers to the West Coast, runs through Idaho. There are a lot of abandoned settlements and abandoned boom towns from when silver was struck in the late 1800s. I've lived here for nearly 10 years. God knows why. I'd move but making any kind of long-distance move elsewhere is beyond our financial capability unless either me or my wife found a job willing to pay relocation costs. And in this buyers's market of a job market, ain't no managers shecking out money for out-of-state hires when there are plenty of qualified people in their backyard. The worst thing is that there are no black folk here, which means the food sucks. No decent wings or barbecue. I really miss the cooking.

Enjoy Superman Returns and its real estate scheme! Plenty of episodes of Adventures of Superman and Lois & Clark with Superman fighting guys in business suits for you to watch, too!
