I'm still a bit amazed that WB has allowed ID4-type destruction for earth in a Superman movie. It was going to happen a bit in Donner's SII- but it's odd how SR avoided it, too--- but I always wonder if it was a company edict not to cross the line into making a superhero film more 'adult' fare with the violence until 'Dark Knight' or if it was always the filmmakers' involved that would hold themselves back (not just in the Superman films, but the Batman ones, too).
Anyhow--- amazed at (except for the poster and the early publicity photo) the smart decisions of marketing to now to start small and get 'bigger' as it comes close to release time.
((*Especially considering the mess with GL and the weak SR marketing))

The music is REALLY selling these spots and trailer. I remember all these years, guys have been saying that Zimmer could make an awesome Superman score and some of us, tied to our old ways of leitmotifs and John Williams, couldn't fathom such an idea. Well...here it is and those who had felt Zimmer could do it can laugh at the rest. ;D

Jesus fucking CHRIIIIIIST!!!! Looks like Jor-El comes to Earth as some kind of hologram or vision when they're in the diner. Pause it when you see him and you can see a waitress behind him. I wonder if they're going to go the Byrne route when Clark sees Kryptonian shit but no one else does. I feel like I'm going to go, "Oh, SHIT, that's from the comics!!!" like a hundred times. They're certainly going for a specific tone for the marketing of this movie - absolutely, incredibly EPIC.

I'm telling you...this is the movie of the summer. Whether it's a disappointment or not, the anticipation is getting higher and higher for everybody, not just us.
My god...the music. I want this in my ipod now. I need to drive and walk around with this playing.
And on the hologram theory...while that may be in the movie, the gif that's in Kris' post...Jor-El doesn't look to be in a diner. The woman in the back is wearing something a bit...foreign. It looks more like his home than anything else.

I don't think that's a Diner. That looks like Krypton. I bet that's Jor-El coming back from the battlefield in time to witness the birth of his son!

I'm telling you...this is the movie of the summer. Star Trek Into Darkness is technically a spring movie, so I will accept this. ;D

Ah, I didn't see the cape in the clip, it's pretty damn clear in the GIF, though.

That's a pretty dramatic entrance for Jor-El to be making in a kitchen, guys. "Lara, my love...where the fuck is the meatloaf?"
I'm telling you. That ain't Lara. It's a midwife. And she's not doing dishes, she's sterilizing surgical tools or something...this is probably a secret birth since we know that Kal being born naturally is a big deal.

Perfect 30 second trailer, well edited to show off Krypton and Smallville background stories as well as major Superman action!
It looks great! But will it be as great as it looks?
