Superman Returns was an ending, and when you think of it that way, it's not bad. This is a brand new beginning, and I couldn't be more excited.

Bad ass pianist from the UK breaks down Zimmer's music from the third trailer. Absolutely beautiful. I love Zimmer's Dark Knight scores, and I believe he's going to blow me away with his work on "Man of Steel." youtu.be/xvpogWs30mY

Superman Returns was an ending Yeah, but you don't wait 20 years for a heavy-handed ending no one asked for, with all new cast and crew. Should have been a return to triumph and glory!

In the tv trailer, Jon Peters gets an exec producer credit! What's up with THAT? Contractual obligation dating back to the Superman Lives days. Haven't heard anything about him being involved, seems like he is just getting paid an insane amount of money due to a contract signed over 15 years ago.

you guys are nuts. it's a 30 second clip.
credit to WB -- if their marketing gets fanboys drooling they're doing something right.
I like what I see but the wankfest is getting a little premature and the floors are getting sticky.

Val....Chris makes a good argument. Superman movies like these are very common these days. I don't know why I got carried away with my emotions and anticipation over this these years...especially that 30-second clip, where the things I've seen has been done over and over and preview Superman movies. I'm making a big mistake in having any degree of above normal expectations. No one should be like this....so yes, we should all poor ice water on our crotches to put away the nerd boner.

We know this already though.
I know when I go ape shit over a new 30 second tv spot it's just the excitement getting to me. It's not as if I don't realize that.
In saying that Chris has to be the polar opposite of that, I reckon he could walk into a party and clear the room ;D

If this movie turns out to be a good-looking turkey, five weeks of nerdgasms may be all we are left with in our cum-flecked hands.

There is a part of me that knows I will laugh my ass off if the movie is shit, but the other part of me will probably be too pissed to let that happen.
Like, it's NONSTOP Snyder speedramps. That'd be fucking hilarious. In a horrible way.

The anticipation with the trailer and the spot is getting to me, too--- but another part of me is trying to tone it down- because the wait for this has been so long and it is possible to put expectations through the roof and be disappointed.
The funny thing is- I'm thinking back (WAYYYY back) to the original campaigns for STM- and how they refused to show a single flying shot and kept almost everything under wraps (the tv spots that had him flying didn't come up until way after the movies' original release in order to bump up more sales if memory serves right).... and still, it became a gigantic sensation-- a giant event.
(Though the fact it was the first major superhero big budget film isn't to be sneezed at + it was the first time fx technology made anyone fly on screen on this scale ever- much like the 'wow' factor that Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park gave to the audience on the first big CGI work back in the day).
All the ads pumped up was the big star cast in flying letters. Part of me wishes that I could go into the movie cold and be wowed by everything at this point- but the kind of campaign put out for STM could never be allowed nowadays with so many movies competing for theatre screens and the giant need for the first weekend boxoffice to be sensational.
All I know is.... those action sequences better be long and mind-blowing.

All I know is.... those action sequences better be long and mind-blowing. But that's the thing -- so many movies nowadays have over-the-top action sequences that there's nothing that we haven't seen. Maybe it's just me and it takes a lot to blow my mind. If MoS is going to be a winner in my book, it's because of the acting, the story, and the drama. The action is going to be heavy I'm sure, and the score will be good for its day... but those two elements are not going to be novel or show-stoppers - it's 2013 and we know what we're gonna get in those 2 departments. I guess I'm an oddball and I'm too tired from changing diapers to get caught up in the hype. That being said, some of the reactions so far are quite hilarious and entertaining. Gold, jerry.

All I know is.... those action sequences better be long and mind-blowing. If MoS is going to be a winner in my book, it's because of the acting, the story, and the drama. But dude...that's the main reason why we're hyped up. From what we're seeing from the acting and story just based on these trailers is nothing what we were expecting 2 years ago. Most of us were expecting shit. Superman played to My Chemical Romance while fighting Zod with slow-fast-slow editing. We didn't think the score and the associated images would hit us like that. But it's hitting the right nerves. Not to mention, non-Superman fans are totally digging the hype and getting excited for it. A Superman film hasn't been anticipated like this, on this scale, since 1978. That's HUGE, man. Just let go and join the fun. If this movie bombs, then my god...we're going to have fun ripping this movie while being totally depressed. I may just call out of work the next day because I'll have too much alcohol in my blood by then. But you know what, at least we were given one heck of a fucking hand-job leading up to it. I'm sure we'll get the ones that will "told you so", but I'm gonna live life and shrug when it doesn't go my way.

and Superman film will reel you in primarily for the story and the drama? Action is a requisite in a Superman film, but without suspense and character investment it's just screen filler. All you care about is seeing big explosions and hearing Superman roar like a lion? Is that what society has been reduced to? For the record, I DO have higher than normal expectations having seen the trailers and what we know about the story. I'm just not going to spray baby batter from the balcony and proclaim obscenities like some of y'all. ;D
