genius marketing move this spot with national guard. it should create a lot of positive share of mind true to the spirit of the character.

Yeah I'm still worried the story won't flow well but fuck it. I'm gonna try and be as positive as possible. Flying on screen has been done quite a bit now, yet still these new shots feel fresh. That shot I posted I love, the sonic boom flying low across the sea was very cool too. Fucking Superman Said it before. Sayin it now. This version of superman has a healthy dose of clint eastwood infused. Mm hmm. The hurtin is a comin.

Thanks. Once I get a bit more experienced I'll spring a bit more money for the nicer oil pastels. They blend better. The cheap ones are like crayon and difficult to work with. I went to the craft supply store and bought more blending sticks today.

I'm sorry, but I can't get over just how gorgeous that flying shot is in my signature. Amazing shot. How about his facial expression when he's flying with Lois? Holy heck.
I feel like we may be getting something very special here guys.

These two flying shots look they like came out of SR. This is the part where Routh flies out to sea to find Lois on the yacht (after getting changed in the elevator shaft): This is when Routh sees the crack forming under the seabed and stops flying and turns back to Metropolis: Here is the evidence:

Agreed! The National Guard is like the Red Cross....zero controversy backing that organization. Very smart and win-win for all...
Agree there, too. Flying for Superman has generally felt more like 'floating' in the cinema.
The visuals with the flying for MOS so far just seems to have a whole different attitude.... maybe it's the mix of some slight faux 'shakicam' with the way the body language is and how they're making the cgi cape flap, but it's just.... for lack of better words- FIERCE. Liking it.

A bit gripe about the flying in "Superman Returns" was the man's hair. He has a spit curl. Then he flies fast enough to break the sound barrier. His hair is flapping all over the place. He stops. He has a spit curl and a perfect part.

Well....
I know neither the spit 's' curl (and the red underpants) don't make any real sense, but..... growing up with seeing them on the character, I never mind it when creatives bend over backwards to include them on Supes....

i dont like much the hair... not as perfect as a perfect wig but ok. if the spit curl pops up "accidentally" here and there the better...
you are right atp. that is SR, definitely. and that is smart in my book.
if this movie is any good i am ok with all possible imagery cannibalism of all that is good in previous movies including SR. just get all the best moments that are printed in our heads, mix it up and make it new.
if the movie sucks then they can go to heck of course.

He looks majestic Could he end up being even better than Reeve? No. I watched SII yesterday. When you look at Superman sitting in the fortress with Lois, Reeve looks god like, near enough perfect. I think Cavill can and will be great, but it's hard to imagine anyone ticking every single one of the boxes the way Reeve did. Not a slight on Cavill atall, I just think Reeve was that good and to this day he's still the greatest comic book lead in the eyes of many.

We may all be surprised. I remember, I used to think no-one could ever be as good as 007 as Sean Connery was in Dr No/FRWL. it was unimaginable.
But then Timothy Dalton did the unthinkable in 1987 and was actually better than Connery.
And so is Daniel Craig for that matter.

Christ!! Just flicked through the last few pages of this thread and all the new images, flying clips etc are excellent.
I am so ready to see this movie now. That picture of Superman looking over his shoulder in the calendar is pretty neat.
