Further proof that Singer screwed the pooch. He had WB spend all that money, so he should have used it!

He actually had no choice but to cut it out. Had he left that sequence in the film wouldn't have fit on the IMAX platter.

It didn't look good in IMAX anyway. There probably would be an extended cut of SR by now or in the works if the sequel had gotten off the ground. We got X-Men 1.5 (which was supposed to have an extended cut) just before X2 came out. We got the original Batman movies in special editions just when Batman Begins came out. We got the Superman box set when SR came out. But no, no sequel, so no extended SR. Quite a shitty game of Dominoes.

Yep. It's sad, really. I just hope one day it'll be released. Kinda like Brando's SII footage.

I don't think that the inclusion of the RTK scene in the final cut would have done significant difference to the BO honestly, as much as I wanted to see it.
What general audiences really wanted to see was more action, especially Superman kicking some supervillain butt, IMO.
It is us the real fans who really care about stuff like that.
WB could still do that to a sequel. Unfortunately they OVERTHINK Superman and make things way more complicated than it really is.

Why would they cut this stuff out of SR? I think the last minute cuts they made to SR prolly did more harm than good.

i think i`d of more like to see the cut scenes where clark was still trying to decide wether to be superman or not by hiding his outfit in the cupboard and then having to go for it before rescuing lois in the plane.

I like the SMALLVILLE version he's using now. Oh well, anything "Smallville" showcased on this board was living on borrowed time anyway. I must admit the SR Fortress looks great; it's a shame we never saw it from that angle in the movie. The shot composition is almost identical to the regular establishing shot of the Fortress in "Smallville," thought the scale seems to be much smaller.

^^I read in an interview with Singer (back in 2006) that they let Smallville use the SR Fortress for the show.
MAV, it looks AWESOME!! What a beauty!

Yeah, well...we can certainly cut the Live Action 101 Dalmations/"you have shown me pleasures" scene in favor of some of this, no?
I love SR...I really do. But not all of it. And I do think that some questionable decisions were made in that editing room.
In all seriousness, this stuff is gorgeous!
