No, it ain't you. They didn't show 4 at all. Funny how they've got the reboot coming, so you'd think they'd wanna forget about Returns and not show any of it at all either. But since these movies are 30 years old, they need to show the latest incarnation. The change in bright colors from the Reeve films, to the dark color scheme of Returns, back and forth in this trailer is not very pretty to say the least. As for "What more can anyone ask"? Plenty:
1. Restored KCOP of STM. 2. Restored theatrical STM with PROPER audio. 3. Restored RIC of S2. 4. Selutron's S2. 5. Restored theatrical of S2. 6. Restored RIC of S3 (it's about 20 minutes longer) 7. Restored 134 minute version of S4 with completed effects that aren't TOO "modern" looking.
Now THAT'S a blu-ray set I can get behind.

Selutron should be a banned word on this board. ;D
He's deified for doing absolutely nothing.

"All-New Digitally Remastered"
Psh, whatever that means. They will just recycle the geriatric HD masters from years ago. Are they restriking the HD masters of three movies released back in 2006? Unless they do, "all-new digitally remastered' is such bullshit.
When has "digitally remastered" ever been used legitimately? When the Star Trek films came out on Blu-ray, they were advertised as remastered. ;D
Why the heck is a Blu-ray release promo approved by the MPAA?

The trailer is pretty poor!. i thought it was ok,not as sweet as the "year of superman(2006)" trailer, but nice.

I agree because he hasn't done anything in years, but disagree because, aside from what he's created and shared with us, he DID go to Warners and tried to convince them on re-visiting S2. They just weren't biting. I'd like to think that when the new film comes out we'll be hearing from him.

The blu ray release would have been a perfect time to include the 3hr cut of STM and the RIC of 2. See what happens when Snyderman is being promoted,I guess. Sigh!
I can live without a br of 3/4 and already have SR on br.

Say, am I the only one who thinks the footage from SR used in the bluray trailer looks a lot lighter, brighter and more colorful than we're used to?
Maybe they ARE indeed brand new transfers and SR has been cleaned up to look, y'know...like a film not shot in the dark?
I'm buying it fo sho.

With his clips they showed how it should have been, and what the fans wanted.

Am I the only one laughing at all the SR haters who have to buy SR a second time in order to get all the features of the Reeve films? ;D

Selutron cut of S2 or no sale for me. I already own the box set and Blu for S1. Warner Bros. can take their lazy cover artwork and shove it.

It seems like Warners is going the route that was used for the Star Trek films, by only releasing the theatical cuts with all of the trimmings and no upgrades for the extended editions. Does anyone know if the Laserdisc for Superman: The Movie sounds better than the mono version included on the theatical version's DVD? It'd be a least nice to hear that in lossless mono.

Selutron this, Selutron that....don't you guys realize the kind of legal red tape that would create?
For one thing, Donner would most certainly demand his name be removed from the cut. No amateur fan cutter is going to tell a Hollywood director how his movie is to be done. Who knows, Lester might also. Then how would WB release a movie with no director? Alan Smithee is history. Plus, no one outside of small message boards would know or care about it. Business don't make things unless they expect it to make money.
The most we could ever hope for is more of the deleted scenes be made available so that fans can recreate the RIC themselves.
To expect or demand WB to sanction a Selutron S2 cut just isn't reasonable. Disney is more likely to rerelease Song of the South before that.

Having the RDC deleted scenes cleaned up would be pretty sweet.
STM extended 01 deleted scenes got the royal treatment (eg feed the babies) it'd be nice to see the same for arctic police and villains enter the fortress instead of that grainy shit we got on the RDC disc.

You gotta remember lads this is Warner Home Video they pretty much disappoint fans every time. Just look at the effort they made advertising the set with that pathetic trailer. No effort.

Let's hope so Kev, but tweeking a few seconds of a movie for a trailer is nothing. They tweeked the suit colours for most of the promo materials back in 2006.

Are there any indications that STM's original 1978 sound mix will be featured on the set? The 5.1 track is likely to be of the 2001 mix and the 2.0 listing does not specify which mix it is.
Also, looks like SIV's DTS-HD MA is 2.0 and not 5.1 like the rest of the films.
Wish Supergirl was being included in the set as well. Hopefully a stand-alone BD release of the film isn't far off.
