LOL! There is already a review on play.com - why do people review stuff before it's even out?

There are now reports of the collection including 7 discs, one disc per film (including Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut) and a bonus disc, likely all ported from the DVD collection.

I d/loaded STM in HD. Happy with that
Before anyone starts moaning, I've spend £££ on WB Supey stuff over the years. I think I've contributed enough to keep Jon Peters happy with his coke for at least 48 hours
BTW: I wonder if they will ship out the correct S3 disk this time?

and that combination of the two "S" symbols is retarded. should've just been the reeve one. You know that could be the new Snyder logo. That official design has been on comics for 35 years, used at the start of STM and only once featured on a costume (Gerard Christopher). I wouldn't be at all surprised if it gets the royal treatment in the new pic.

Interesting if they use a hybrid. Let's wait and see...

Forgot where I read it but when they said that Cavill was testing "in the dated Reeve costume" that got me a bit worried. I mean yeah, dated if you're talking about the colors since they used blue screens back then but personally....If they took the Gerard Christopher costume and used that....I wouldn't be upset in the slightest. I felt that was the best one. Now if they want to do a raised one a la SR, if it looks like the cover...I can live with it I guess but no overly dark colors in the suit.....PLEASE!!!

why can't they just release a blu ray reeve box set? i guess they figure if they don't cram superman returns into every set, no one will buy it on it's own. and that combination of the two "S" symbols is retarded. should've just been the reeve one. That Box art is not a combination of the Reeve & Routh "S". It is a combination of the Official DC Generic version of the "S" & the Routh version. The Reeve version is what I call the Imperfect version. The Ball on the tail is a little wonky & the way the middle bar connects to the side is a little off. Always loved it though. It distinguished itself from the generic one. My 2 fav "S" symbols ever are the Silver Raised STM Advertising "S" & Routh's "S". They should have used the STM Silver Raised Advertising "S" on this set just like they did on the 14 disc collectors Tin. What they went with looks retarded & makes no sense. The generic "S" has nothing to do with the Reeve & Routh movies.

What I just posted above might just be the nerdiest thing I've ever typed. I'm surprised that I've ever been laid. ;D Its ok though, there are enough people here that know everything that I'm talking about in that post. I'm in good company

The generic S was in the STM opening credits.

Yup, thats right. Forgot about that.
Still, no one associates it with the movie, & it wasn't used in any of the marketing. Silver Raised was always in the posters & marketing, & Imperfect was on his suit.

I personally would prefer if that they just include STM, SII (both cuts), and SR and call that the Superman Trilogy Collection and forget about SIII and SIV. We all know WB doesn't give a shit about those two movies, and they will just be repackaged anyways being direct ports of the crappy DVDs. They might as well just devote their time and resources to properly clean up and remaster STM, both versions of SII, and SR and call it a day.
Frankly, I couldn't give two fucks about SIII and SIV anymore anyways. I don't think I have seen them in years, and besides the SIII junkyard fight I don't think I have any intention to anytime soon anyways.

I would love Superman III and IV in HD. I still enjoy watching them. IV is a guilty pleasure.

I know its wishful thinking, but wouldn't it be great if Selutron has been working on restoring S2 for the last 2 years or whatever (whenever he went to WB with his proposed cut) and it will be released in this set? I know, stupid idea. However, considering how shut in Sel keeps himself from this community, I feel like this is something he wouldn't tell anyone so as to not spoil the surprise. Wishful thinking, but I've also wondered. New film in the works, supposed progress with the studio was made and Mank/Donner saw it all. Hey, you never know. This announcement could include SII theatrical and SII The Directors 'Final Cut'...similar to what Ridely Scott achieved through Warners in the last Blade Runner box. You gotta wonder whether Mankewicz passing away would impact this, maybe Donner would dedicate it to him this time?

DigitalBits confirms with WB that box set is coming to US. ZonaDVD is reporting the set will be 8 discs. 6 movie discs (including both versions of Superman II on separate discs) and 2 bonus discs. $20 says STM, S2DC and SR are recycled discs from 2006, and no theatrical version of STM. The HD master of STM is old. The video scores from reviewers in 2006 averaged 75% or so, but today that wouldn't cut it. Soft image, and not much grain. If they can pull out of their ass both versions on one disc with a new HD master with seamless branching and lossless original mix, I will be a happy camper. That alone would make the set worth purchasing for me.

I still enjoy watching them. IV is a guilty pleasure. Same here; last time I put it on, I was getting quite into it haha. Very easy to watch. Superman IV and Rambo IV: two shitty movies that somehow have this enormous, unexplained rewatchability factor (and Superman III and Rambo III are almost impossible for me to watch all the way through) I'd love to see SIII and IV in HD/BluRay.

Superman III and Rambo III are almost impossible for me to watch all the way through) Rambo 3 may be the weakest in the series (and pretty messed up post-9/11) but Stallone was in his best shape in that film IMO. The stick fight at the beginning=WIN.

Rambo 3 may be the weakest in the series ( and pretty messed up post-9/11) The Living Daylights is now equally messed up. ;D

SIV has it's LOL moments definitely. But what I do appreciate is the effort Reeve put into it even though he knew it was going to turn out shitty. Plus, Hackman and Reeve's chemistry was good to see again after the absence of that in III. I love Nuclear Man's lines though: Nuclear Man: Where is the woman? Superman: Give it up, you'll never find her. Nuclear Man: If you will not tell me, I will hurt people! [Nuclear Man begins to cause mass destruction] ;D

Sure, I'll buy it. Most of us will buy it. Then in 2016 when SR is 10 years old, WB will do another set and put in the Return to Krypton sequence. And I'll buy it again. Most of us will buy it again.
Why? Because we're marks. They know we're marks. That's OK as long as we can admit it and let it be a healthy part of our lives.
And you know why the general public will have no clue about which "S" is used on the box? Because they're not marks. But we are. That's why we notice these things.
